Made my trip overseas so much easier!

Yasmin was extremely helpful, friendly and made planning my trip so much easier. I don't know what I would have done without her! She told me how to get a travel visa and luckily warned me of any travel restrictions that were going on! I had to rebook my trip twice due to covid & restrictions and Yasmin handled everything on the hospitals end. One of the times I had to rebook it was because my layover was in london and Turkey banned all incoming travel from the UK. The airline never notified me so if it wasn't for Yasmin warning me I would have gotten on the plane and been stuck in london! Going overseas to a country you've never been to before to get plastic surgery can be scary, having Yasmin made it a lot less scary knowing you have somebody there that's on your team to help you.

Long waiting times in UK…

Because of long waiting times in UK hospitals due to Covid19, I hit upon the idea of having my bilateral hernia surgery done while on a 2-week holiday in Antalya. After making inquiries through Yasmin, I had a short but comprehensive consultation with an eminent surgeon Prof Alihan Gürkan and my operation was scheduled for a day halfway through my stay in Antalya. It went well with keyhole surgery, I stayed in overnight and was discharged the next day, which gave me 6 days to recover before my flight home to Scotland. Yasmin kept in touch throughout, making sure I had transport to and from the hospital, and a special thanks to Fatma, my mentor and guide at the Memorial Hospital on my day of tests and examinations. I telephoned my surgeon a few days after the operation for advice on removing my plasters and he was most helpful and reassuring about my complete recovery. I was not too fond of the breakfast, but considered it as another form of medicine! My flight home was amazingly comfortable without painkillers, although they were definitely needed for a few days after my operation. In conclusion, I would be happy to have other treatment like this, though in a nice sort of way I hope never to set eyes on the Memorial Hospital again. 🙂

A very positive outcome

A very positive outcome, following my decision to pursue in having dental cosmetic surgery/treatment carried out in Turkey. Excellent advisory skills by Flymedi rep Abud. He was professional, well informed, and followed me up with total attention throughout the whole process. Last but not least, I thank Dr Ahmed Kumsan and his team at Infinity Smiles Dental Clinic for their commitment and professionalism. Highly recommended.

Thank you Flymedi

I was considering several different options, however Abud was by far the most committed and helpful of all the agents I'd been in discussions with. Everything was organised for me and I was guided throughout and if I was feeling apprehensive about anything or had any questions Abud was always on hand to answer my questions and give reassurances. I'm so happy with the results of my operation and I was left overwhelmed by how friendly and supportive everyone was throughout. If you're considering using flymedi then I can honestly say you'll be delighted with the service both before during and after your surgery.

Recommended For Zirconium Crowns

Patients with broken, cracked or crooked teeth which still have a healthy root can opt for zirconium crowns. Patients undergoing a dental implant procedure can also opt for zirconia crowns, as these crowns offer excellent durability for many years. That being said, the dentist will have to check patient’s X-rays in order to determine if this type of procedure is the best option available for the patient.

In such cases, dentists often decide for tooth crown procedure, in which zirconia crown is attached on the top of one’s tooth in order to strengthen it and protect from future damage.

If you think about the dental crown procedure because your tooth is broken or cracked and you pay attention to dental crowns’ durability – zirconium crowns are a good choice.

Zirconia crowns and zirconia implants are known to be the most durable ones of all since zirconia is the strongest material used in cosmetic dentistry.

Not Recommended For Zirconium Crowns

If in dental crowns the most important to you is aesthetic look rather than durability, cosmetic dentistry offers other solutions such as emax crowns and other materials faithfully imitating the natural look of teeth. However, zirconia crowns are usually a bit stronger than Emax crowns. Additionally, zirconia crowns preparation is much quicker – you get your dental crowns during the first visit, without waiting.

Overview

Zirconium crowns, also called zirconia crowns are a type of dental caps or dental crowns produced from a material called zirconia. Zirconia crowns are very versatile, meaning that they can be used with zirconia dental implants as well as other types of implants such as titanium dental implants. Zirconia is becoming a very popular dentistry material for different types of dental work due to its aesthetics combined with great durability and high success rate.

The average zirconium crowns cost is different according to the destination the patient chooses. For example, patients opting for zirconium crowns in Turkey will have to pay as little as half the cost of undergoing the same procedure in the United Kingdom or United States. This is one of the main reasons patients opt to visit Turkey as well as other medical tourism hubs for their dental procedures.

Zirconia Crowns offer several advantages compared to other types like porcelain fused to metal:

Strong and biocompatible- Zirconia crowns are fully biocompatible and less exposed to plaque accumulation. They are also extremely durable, with a very low chance of fractures or chipping of the crown.

They can be personalized– Due to the way they are being produced, these crowns can be manufactured to suit the patient's needs better than other types of crowns. New technologies such as computer-assisted design and computer-assisted manufacturing ensure that the crown fits perfectly for each patient. It is also possible to produce these crowns in such a way that they are exactly the same colour shade as the patient's natural teeth.

Allergy-free– Patients allergic to certain metals can opt for these allergy free crowns.

They are aesthetic– Since zirconia is free of any metal and can mimic the look of natural teeth, there is no darkening of the gum area, as is the case with porcelain fused to metal crowns. Even in patients suffering from gum recession there is no chance of metal becoming visible, as is the case with other types of crowns.

Comfortable for patients– Porcelain fused to metal crowns tend to transmit heat and cold very easily, making patients very sensitive to different foods and drink. These crowns are more comfortable for patients, allowing them to enjoy hot or cold foods and drinks.

Preparation

Undergoing the procedure is nothing to worry about – the average zirconia crown prep phase is quite simple. During the patient’s first visit, the dentist will begin by cleaning the tooth where the crown will be placed. Once the tooth has been thoroughly cleaned and all chipped or cracked portions have been removed, a mould is used to take an impression of the tooth. This mould will be used by a dental technician to create the crowns itself. Most of the zirconia crown preparation phase is done in a dentist office, while the crown itself is usually produced in an off-site laboratory. The patient will only have to visit the dentist’s office once or twice before the procedure is complete.

Risks

Although zirconia crowns are known to be extremely durable, there are some risks connected with this type of dental crowns.

As it is with other dental crowns, zirconia crowns may detach from teeth due to a variety of reasons, such as wrong attachment or effect of chemical substances which foster detachment such as some Fluor-based substances.

To typical zirconia crowns problems belong also pressure and friction with other teeth around. Finally, there is a possibility of tooth decay under zirconia crowns, sometimes visible only after removing dental crowns.

Side Effects

To zirconia crowns disadvantages belong slightly less natural look than other types of crowns, for example, emax crowns. However, for people looking for durability in tooth crown procedure, zirconia crowns are the best solution.

Success Rates

The average zirconia crown survival rate is between 95.9% and 97.1%

What are Zirconium Crowns?
Zirconia crowns are one of the types of crowns used in cosmetic dentistry. Zirconia is a highly durable material and is often used in tooth crown procedure for its quality as well as the quickness of zirconia crowns preparation.

Zirconia Crowns vs Emax – Which of those Types of Crowns Is Better?  There is no easy answer to this question. Zirconia crowns are more durable, while Emax crowns are known for their very natural look. Additionally, zirconia crowns preparation is made during the first visit to a dentist, while Emax crowns need at least a few days to be prepared.

What Are the Zirconia Crowns Disadvantages?
Some say that to major zirconia crowns disadvantages belongs a not quite natural look but with every new generation of zirconia crowns, this argument becomes less and less important since new dental crowns made from zirconia resemble natural teeth to a high degree.

How long do zirconia crowns last?

If properly taken care of, zirconia crowns can last a lifetime.
