FUT Hair Transplant procedure has a success rate of 90-95%
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is a hair transplantation technique. This technique only differs from the FUE method in how the hair follicles are extracted from the donor area. When using the FUT technique, your surgeon will remove a strip of hair from the back of your head (the donor area).
Besides being regarded as a traditional hair transplantation technique, the FUT method is still effective and surgeons prefer it because it guarantees satisfactory results.
For your online consultation, we will ask you to send your photos as shown in the Photography Guide down below, to evaluate your case.
Just like any other surgery, the procedure is tailored to meet your individual needs, preferences, and the clinic’s practices. Here is a brief guideline below:
An online consultation (between you and the FUE Hair Transplant specialist) will be arranged – to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for the hair transplant surgery. You will be asked to send some pictures. After the hair transplant specialist reviews your pictures, the specialist will suggest the optimal number of hair grafts.
During the online consultations, expect the following questions:
It is during this consultation that your surgeon will learn about your motivation, expectations, and goals – in regard to the surgery.
Your surgeon will administer the local anesthesia. Then your surgeon will remove a strip of hair from the donor area. The donor area where a strip of hair was extracted is then sutured. This process usually leaves a linear scar on your head. But, the scar won't be visible, because it is hidden underneath the hair.
The extracted donor strip will be then cut into individual follicular units using a microscopic dissection. Your surgeon will then create incisions –medically known as canal openings – on the recipient area where the follicular graft units will be inserted.
After the transplant is done, your surgeon will gently apply a disinfection solution to the scalp. And the donor area will be dressed using bandages.
A day after the surgery you will have to visit the clinic for a review. Your surgeon will give you instructions to help you make the recovery period swift and flawless. Some of these instructions include:
Is FUT Hair Transplant Painful?
The FUT hair transplant procedure is performed under local anesthesia, you won't feel anything during the procedure. If they experience any pain or soreness after the procedure, they can use prescribed painkillers to relieve the pain and discomfort.
Does FUT Hair Transplant Leave a Scar?

What's the Difference Between FUT and FUE?
The main difference between FUT and FUE hair transplant techniques is that in the FUT technique, the surgeon extracts a donor skin strip from which the surgeon will remove the follicular units to be transferred to the recipient area. whereas in FUE the follicular units are removed individually and directly from the scalp.
Is FUT Hair Transplant affordable?
Yes, the procedure will be more affordable abroad and cost less in popular medical tourism locations like Turkey. But some factors affect the FUT Hair Transplant cost, like the clinic's location, the surgeon's experience, and the technique used.
