Long waiting times in UK…

Because of long waiting times in UK hospitals due to Covid19, I hit upon the idea of having my bilateral hernia surgery done while on a 2-week holiday in Antalya. After making inquiries through Yasmin, I had a short but comprehensive consultation with an eminent surgeon Prof Alihan Gürkan and my operation was scheduled for a day halfway through my stay in Antalya. It went well with keyhole surgery, I stayed in overnight and was discharged the next day, which gave me 6 days to recover before my flight home to Scotland. Yasmin kept in touch throughout, making sure I had transport to and from the hospital, and a special thanks to Fatma, my mentor and guide at the Memorial Hospital on my day of tests and examinations. I telephoned my surgeon a few days after the operation for advice on removing my plasters and he was most helpful and reassuring about my complete recovery. I was not too fond of the breakfast, but considered it as another form of medicine! My flight home was amazingly comfortable without painkillers, although they were definitely needed for a few days after my operation. In conclusion, I would be happy to have other treatment like this, though in a nice sort of way I hope never to set eyes on the Memorial Hospital again. 🙂

Thank you Flymedi

I was considering several different options, however Abud was by far the most committed and helpful of all the agents I'd been in discussions with. Everything was organised for me and I was guided throughout and if I was feeling apprehensive about anything or had any questions Abud was always on hand to answer my questions and give reassurances. I'm so happy with the results of my operation and I was left overwhelmed by how friendly and supportive everyone was throughout. If you're considering using flymedi then I can honestly say you'll be delighted with the service both before during and after your surgery.

Recommended For Hemorrhoidectomy

Patients whose hemorrhoids don't show signs of improvement with progressively customary, non-obtrusive hemorrhoid treatments ought to consider visiting proctologist who will choose whether a hemorrhoidectomy is vital or not. Individuals suffering from irregular bowel movements caused, for example, by irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) have a stronger tendency from long-time hemorrhoid pain, on the other hand, it is not an obligation. There are a few different reasons for hemorrhoids becoming hurtful and bleeding.

Not Recommended For Hemorrhoidectomy

If you have complaints from painful hemorrhoids for a long period of time, most likely you are qualified to undergo hemorrhoid operation. Difficulties to have Hemorrhoidectomy might include:

Overview

Painful hemorrhoids are a typical ailment, influencing the greater part of the general population at some point in their lives.Hemorrhoids generally don’t take a strong form requiring an operation of some type and are remediable with non-invasive methods. Moreover – in fact, everyone was born with some hemorrhoids which just do not result in any harm. On the other hand, because of a few patients’ carelessnesses or different factors affecting the development of hemorrhoids, an operation called Hemorrhoidectomy may be obligatory. There are a lot of categories of hemorrhoid treatment. Proctologist’s decision regarding the type of hemorrhoid surgery suitable for a patient is dictated by their medical condition and whether the patient's problem is internal hemorrhoid or external hemorrhoid.

Preparation

As with many operations, it is advised to consult your proctologist and inform about all medical conditions you have also experienced all the drugs you take. Hence, proctologist can choose whether the Hemorrhoidectomy is feasible in your situation. Blood thinners, for example, aspirin must not be used for a little time before a hemorrhoid operation. Furthermore, you will be asked to fast for 6-12 hours before a hemorrhoid removal.

How It Is Performed

There are some types of Hemorrhoidectomy, such as:
• Closed Hemorrhoidectomy – hemorrhoid is removed with a scalpel or other device, and the wound is closed with stitches.
• Open Hemorrhoidectomy – the wound is left open in order to avoid complications.
• In some cases, to achieve better results, closed and open hemorrhoid surgeries are combined. • Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy – rather than extracting the hemorrhoids, proctologist chooses to staple them again into their place in the anal canal. This operation carries a greater danger of hemorrhoids’ reoccurrence; however, it is believed to be less painful.
• Rubber band ligation – hemorrhoid banding might be a decent method of dealing with few hemorrhoids. The band cuts out the blood supply to hemorrhoid, making it diminish in size.

There are also different methods of hemorrhoid operation, such as lateral internal sphincterotomy, but they do not enjoy as much popularity among proctologists..

Recovery

You will be able to leave the hospital right after your hemorrhoid removal operation; on the other hand, it is advised that someone should escort you there due to the effects of anesthesia. You will experience some pain specifically within the initial two weeks after Hemorrhoidectomy; however, this ought to be manageable with painkiller medicines prescribed by your specialist. You will be suggested to take warm showers. After hemorrhoid treatment, small bleedings are normal, and you should have no worries. As for your eating habits, you should not consume fiber-rich food a few days after the operation of hemorrhoids.

Risks

There are few risks related to hemorrhoid operation, including excessive bleeding, diseases, reopening of hemorrhoid, and complications with defecation and urination. When you see these problems, you ought to contact your proctologist. On the other hand, it is better to say that these complications are uncommon. Many of the patients who experience hemorrhoidectomy procedure do not experience any complications.

Side Effects

The most significant side effect of hemorrhoid operation, regardless whether internal hemorrhoids treatment or external hemorrhoid removal, is a certain amount of pain felt throughout initial two weeks or even more, On the other hand, with painkiller medicines given by a proctologist, it ought to be totally manageable.

Success Rates

Open Hemorrhoidectomy, which is the most painful type, has the highest success rate. The success rate is 95% of cases. Other types of hemorrhoid removal are less successful and more often ended up with reappearance of hemorrhoids within several years.
