I travelled all the way from US by myself to come here and get rhinoplasty done, my surgery was a week ago by Dr Hasan duygulu he is extremely professional and excellent at his job. My whole stay was made very easy and comforting by Kate, Sultan and Enes. I have been coordinating with Kate this whole time from the start till the end. She has been amazing throughout and ensuring. They all were there for me when i needed them and even after. It was a great decision for me and i m totally proud of myself that i was able to find the best and proceeded with it. I thank everyone part of luna clinic and the hospital for your kind and loving hospitality. I will recommend coming to Dr Hasan to everyone and anyone without any hesitation

I would highly recommend Flymedi and Abud

I would highly recommend Flymedi. My mom had a gastric balloon fitted at the Luna clinic and everything went smoothly. When I was looking for a clinic in Turkey I found Flymedi as medical tourism, I contacted them by email and they got back to me in a short time. I was assigned Abud as health coordinator and I don’t have enough words to thank him. He’s professional but on top of that he loves what he’s doing and he does really care. As I said before I don’t have enough words to thank Abud and Flymedi and I’m so happy I made the right decision by choosing them. If you want to have the bed experience choose Flymedi and you won’t regret it.

Rhinoplasty 12 days ago- Luna Clinic- Dr. Hasan Duygulu

I had my rhinoplasty done exactly 12 days ago with doctor Hasan Duygulu. Before flying to Istanbul, I was very scared of doing this somewhere far from home but , from the first day of our arrival I knew I chose the right clinic; we met Sultan at the gate of the hospital, she was extremely nice and accommodating and organised, she comforted and still comforting me with answering every question and concerns possible and was with me through the whole before, during and after process which I am still experiencing btw. At the day of the surgery we met doctor Hasan, he is very nice and professional, I told him what I wanted and he took pictures of my face and showed me what my nose could approximately look like after the surgery and addressed my concerns and questions which were a lot btw :) he came to visit me right after I woke up and the next morning as well. The hospital was very luxurious and the nurses were very nice and all our needs were met perfectly, everything was super organised and easy. Today I removed my cast and I am very happy with the results as early as it is with the swelling I am very satisfied and I cant wait to see the final results which seem to be very close to the pictures he showed me. Thank you Luna clinic and especially Sultan for making this life changing decisions the best decision I made. The whole experience was easy, trusted and comfortable thanks to you

I would definitely recommend booking through Flymedi.

If you are thinking about surgery in Turkey, I would definitely recommend booking through Flymedi. Abud was my contact and is there for you 24/7. He was quick to respond and did his very best to answer every question and keep me calm in what can be, a new and scary experience. I would highly recommend and you can be sure you are lucky if he is your contact. The hospital was very clean and staff were very professional and kind. The doctor did an amazing job and I am thrilled!!

Totally recommend

The whole process went really smooth from the beginning, it was really easy to communicate with them. I had my mommy makeover done in June, 2021 and the only thing I regretted is putting off my surgery for some years because I did not want to travel abroad, but in the end it was all worth it. The prices are much lower and I was happy with my surgeon (Prof. Omer), he is such a friendly person and an amazing surgeon as well. I love my results and I've never felt so confident in my body, even before the pregnancy. I can recommend Flymedi and my surgeon in particular.

Overview

Colectomy is a surgery performed for the removal of the colon either entirely or partly. There might be different reasons for colectomy to be performed, such as colon cancer and other illnesses associated with the lower part of the digestive system. Colectomy is a widespread operation performed for thousands of people every year. Numerous patients choose to have a colectomy in a foreign country so as to recover in beneficial settings and advantage from affordable prices.

Preparation

Surgeons should be informed about the other illnesses the patient has, and the medications the patient has been taking. To have a cleansed colon, the patients should be taking some of the medications which their doctors prescribed (e.g., laxatives union as the surgery day approaches. Also, the patient should fast before a couple of hours of the surgery.

How It Is Performed

Colectomy is performed in numerous different ways. Colectomy can be performed either as a laparoscopic colectomy (with a medical tool called laparoscope) or as an open surgery (with an incision in the lower abdomen). Also, there are scopes of colectomy, which involve total colectomy, colorectal surgery (colon and rectum are removed) and partial colectomy in which a part of the colon is removed. Doctors would decide on the best method according to the illness the patient is suffering from and its prevalence and likelihood of relapse. After partial or total removal of the colon, the last part of colectomy may be the creation of stoma in order to divert the way waste is released from your body. This may be a permanent solution (a result of colorectal surgery) or a temporary one when the patient's colon needs to be left unused for some time in order to heal properly.Colostomy (part of the colon is diverted) and ileostomy (part of the small intestine is diverted) are the types of commonly used stomas.

Recovery

The recovery process of colectomy may differ from patient to patient depending on their type and scope of colon removal. While partial colectomy has a shorter recovery period, a patient who had total colectomy usually need a longer period of time to heal and get back to their daily routine. Recovery time of colectomy is expected to be in weeks or months. Patients who had colostomy or ileostomy will be required to use waste bags attached to the stoma after the operation.

Risks

Colectomy operation has numerous risks and complications including infection, internal or external bleeding, the occurrence of a blood clot and leakage through stitched intestines. Therefore, it is beneficial to monitor the changes that occur in your body after the operation.

Side Effects

For most of the patients, the most significant consequence of colectomy operation is the need to temporarily or permanently living with colostomy or ileostomy, which may initially cause discomfort. Though, shortly after the operation, patients can return to their usual diet and daily activities.

Success Rates

There is no single success rate for colectomy operation. The success rate varies depending on the kind of colon removal and its scope(whether it is a partial colectomy or total colectomy). Success rate differs from 90% to 13% in the most complicated conditions. The way colectomy surgery was performed has a significant role in the success rate as well. If the surgery was planned beforehand as a treatment for colon cancer or colon cancer prevention, the patient would have time to prepare for the operation, which leads the success rate to rise. However, in the case of emergency colon removal, the chances for proper healing are decreasing.

Before And After

Many patients who had colectomy go back to their daily life as before the procedure. Even though it might be difficult at first for the patients who need to use ileostomy or colostomy, they get used to it.

Faq

-Is Colostomy Necessary after Colectomy? No, it is not. In many cases of partial colectomy, it is possible to connect intestines, and there is no need for colostomy or ileostomy.

-Does Crohn Disease always Lead to Colectomy?

No, it is dependent on the patient’s condition and the severity of the illness.

-Which One Is Better: Traditional Colectomy or Laparoscopic Colectomy?

Even though the laparoscopic colectomy surgeries are increasing, there is no clear data for its benefits over the traditional colectomy operation. However, laparoscopic colectomy thought to have a shorter recovery period and less risk of infection.
