The Benefit of Brow Lift Surgery Abroad

Brow lift surgery abroad is popular among older patients, typically between 40 - 60 years old. The procedure provides the patient with a more youthful appearance, reduces wrinkles in the forehead, and treats droopy eyebrows.

Most patients travel abroad to have brow lifts because the procedure costs 70%- 80% cheaper than in their country. But affordability isn't the only reason patients travel abroad to have brow lifts:

Advance service

Some patients prefer an agency to plan their treatment abroad. It gives you relief to focus on your recovery. The agency will prepare a customized trip that fits your needs. The package will include flight, accommodation, and airport transfer.

Excellent surgeons

Renowned institutions with international accreditations have top-class surgeons, and they are trained and with years of experience. You can evaluate their experience based on the awards and credentials on their website or the clinic website.

You can have access to one of Europe's leading cosmetic surgeons.

The geographical location plays a role. Turkey and Hungary have gained a reputation as top destinations for cosmetic surgeries. Also, the vast number of patients who travel to these destinations adds value to their experience and understanding of international patients' expectations.

Tips For Choosing The Best Brow Lift Surgery Clinic Abroad

  • Create a shortlist of possible clinics abroad:  research the clinic you plan to visit overseas. Most reputable clinics will have an official website, and you can examine the dentist's expertise, reviews, and credentials.
  • Check the local regulation: It is essential to know how the treatment is regulated in your chosen country. This will help you identify reputable clinics registered with the governing body or national association. It will also tell you about your rights.
  • Prepare a list of questions for your doctor: prepare a list of questions to ensure you receive quality treatment. Common questions to ask - do they provide a translator? Do they have patients' testimonials? Is the clinic registered with the national association?
  • Trust your instincts:  This personal element should not be underestimated. Mainly when undertaken in a foreign country and in unfamiliar surroundings. For this reason, you should trust your instincts as much as the raw data. If a clinic feels wrong, then walk away.
  • Have a clear expectation of the results: understand the procedure plan you need. Visit your local doctor and check what treatment best suits your case.

Who Isn't A Good Candidate For Brow Lift Abroad?

Brow lift surgery or eyebrow lift surgery is not suitable for morbidly obese patients or heavy smokers and those who do not prefer to stop smoking. Patients with serious underlying health problems are not good candidates for forehead lift surgery.

How long should you stay in the hospital after the surgery?

You may spend one night in the hospital after the procedure to monitor your status.

How long is the surgery?

The surgery will take 1 to 2 hours.

How Many Days Before I Can Return To Work?

3 to 5 days.

When can I get back to sports after the treatment?

You can expect to get back to exercise after 2 weeks.

How Long Does It Take Before I Can Return To Sports After The Surgery?

Expect your doctor to advise you to wait a one-month period before returning to sports.

What You Should Avoid Before The Surgery?

Patients need to stop taking any anti-inflammatory medicines at least 2 weeks before the procedure. Smoking should be stopped at least one month before the procedure. Because it may adversely affect the healing process of the body and ultimately destroy the results of forehead lift surgery.

Herbal teas, green teas, vitamins, aspirin, and Omega 3 capsules need to be avoided at least 2 weeks before the brow lift surgery.

How Is The Surgery Performed?

Before the brow lift procedure can begin, the patient is put under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation depending on the decision of the surgeon. There are two main techniques that can be applied for a brow lift procedure:

Endoscopic brow lift procedure– The endoscope is a skinny tube with a small camera on the end. In this procedure, the surgeon creates small incisions just behind the hairline and then uses these incisions to adjust the muscle and tissue beneath the skin, effectively correcting the lines on the forehead and raising the eyebrows.

The endoscopic brow lift procedure is preferred by doctors as well as patients, as it is much less invasive than previous techniques, and it can usually achieve an equally successful result.

Coronal incision brow lift procedure– The incision spans from one ear to the other, across the top of the head. The patient’s skin is then lifted, revealing any underlying tissue. The surgeon then continues to make adjustments to achieve the desired result. The coronal incision scar is hidden from the patient's hairline.

The operated area was then bandaged, and the brow lift surgery procedure ended.

Brow Lift Recovery Timeline

The average brow lift recovery period lasts between 2 and 4 weeks. The patient’s forehead is wrapped in bandages in order to avoid infection but also to reduce bruising and swelling. A certain amount of swelling and bruising may be experienced in the 10-day period following surgery.

Patients can return to work and daily activities in about 2 weeks, but sports and substantial physical activities should be avoided for at least 4 weeks. If the sutures were used instead of bandages, they are usually removed within seven to 10 days after the surgery.

Patients will need to take precautions so as not to disturb the forehead region – wearing hats are prohibited during the brow lift recovery period.

Brow Lift Side Effects

Brow lift surgery risks and complications can include the following:
