My experience was great!

I was worried that I would have my surgery in a foreign country alone, but Luna Clinic made me feel right at home. They attended to my every need right away, and I didn’t feel alone even for one second. Thanks for everything. My experience was great!

Excellent Service from Abud of Flymedi

Abud was excellent in arranging my visit to Istanbul for both Eyelid and Hair Treatment. I decided to combine both treatments at Estecenter due to the clinics reputation. recommendations and also Abud's guidance. Abud clearly communicated the types of treatments available , estimated costs , all treatment schedules , travel logistics , hotel arrangements and daily transportation to and from clinic. Through responses coordinated between Abud and Estecenter he answered all my questions beforehand and was concise in the cost of treatments being communicated by Estecenter . Truly excellent service and i highly recommend you engage Abud as this leaves you know worries in relaxing during and after your very important treatments that you waited so long to have done Also i decided to stay and additional 7 days , at my own cost in Istanbul, to help my recovery.

Life changing !

I had a massive operation with a full body lift that actually required 2 separate visits to Turkey which was very daunting for me to commit to but I’m so happy I did. I’ve never felt comfortable in my own skin and really struggled with my body especially after having 2 kids. It was really nice to do something for myself and Luna clinic made the experience hassle free for me. They were there for me from beginning to end through both visits and it couldn’t have gone better for me. Thank you so much for the life changing operation and experience.

Recommended For Liposuction

Any patient that is a bit overweight or has certain fat build ups in certain areas such as belly fat can benefit from a liposuction procedure. The most important requirement is that the patient has a stable weight before going in for surgery.

Not Recommended For Liposuction

Liposuction is not recommended for obese individuals or patients considering liposuction as a weight loss method. Patients suffering from heart problems, diabetes or certain infections are at risk of developing complications from liposuction surgery and they may not be good candidates for this procedure.

Number Of Trips Abroad

1 trip

Discharge From Hospital

Patient may spend one night in hospital

Duration Of Operation

1 to 4 hours

Minimum Stay

3 days

Preparation

The patient should avoid the intake of vitamins, herbal tea, any aspirin based medicine and should quit smoking at least 10 days before the liposuction surgery.

Scars After Surgery

Scars after liposuction surgery are generally small and they are barely noticeable when fully healed. Wearing the compression garment as instructed also helps reduce scarring. The scars are usually smaller than 1 cm, about the size of the cannula used in the procedure.

Risks

According to a study focused on liposuction complication rates, the average liposuction surgery complication rate is around 5%, with most complications being minor.

Side Effects

During the first 5 to 10 days after the surgery patients may feel discomfort, swelling, bruising and inflammation. Depending on the type of anaesthesia, some patients may feel nausea or dizziness.

Success Rates

A study on laser assisted liposuction success rates reveals that around 89% of patients report being satisfied with the procedure and would do it again, with around 94% willing to recommend it to family and friends.

Before And After

Before and after liposuction photos might look appealing but patients need to keep in mind that the body needs a few months to adjust and reduce all the swelling. The patient will also need to continue following a diet in order to maintain the new body contour.

Back To Work

3 to 7 days after the surgery

Back To Sports

Types of Liposuction

Patients opting for liposuction surgery have plenty of different techniques and options available to them, depending on their needs, expectations and the part of the body where the liposuction will take place. Different parts of the body store different types and amounts of fat, meaning that better aesthetically pleasing results can be achieved by using the proper type of liposuction.

SAL or Suction Assisted Liposuction

Suction assisted liposuction is the traditional type of liposuction where the surgeon breaks down fatty deposits with the use of a cannula (a hollow tube). This is the simplest type of liposuction available for patients.

Tumescent Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is similar to suction assisted liposuction, with a slight difference. Large amounts of anesthetic fluids are used in order to make the tissue swollen or tumescent, making it easier for the doctor to remove the fat.

SmartLipo or Laser Assisted Liposuction

Laser assisted liposuction is similar to traditional liposuction techniques with the only difference that a laser is used to further break down fatty tissue before suction is applied to remove it. The heat generated by the laser will melt fat, tighten skin and coagulate blood vessels within the skin. It can also make the recovery process easier for the patient, contributing for a quicker recovery with reduced bruising and a better looking skin, compared to other liposuction procedures such as suction assisted liposuction. SmartLipo can be performed under local or general anaesthesia, as is the case with other types of liposuction. Being a more complex procedure, laser assisted liposuction should be performed by the most experienced of plastic surgeons.

VASER Liposuction or Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction

VASER liposuction is similar to laser assisted liposuction with the only difference being that VASER liposuction uses ultrasound energy in order to break up fatty tissue within the liposuction area. The doctor creates the necessary incision and a special cannula fitted with a low frequency device is inserted through the incision in order to emulsify the fatty tissue. The fat is then removed through traditional suction techniques. VASER liposuction provides some advantages such as reduced bruising, reduced swelling and reduced blood loss from the procedure, the only drawback being that it requires a larger incision to accommodate for the ultrasound device. That being said, this technique is recommended for areas such as the abdomen, thighs or buttocks.

Power Assisted Liposuction or PAL

Power assisted liposuction is a great choice for patients with a high volume of fat that has to be removed. Similarly to VASER liposuction, power assisted liposuction uses an improved cannula, fitted with a vibrating device which breaks up fatty tissue before removing it through suction.

High Definition Liposuction or HDL

High definition liposuction is a relatively new technique through which the underlying muscle is defined through fat grafting and selective liposuction. This is a more time consuming procedure, compared to other techniques but the results tend to be more aesthetically pleasing.
