How we rank clinics
Best match is an order, not a score. This page says what that order is, what you can change it to, and what it does not mean.

The default order
Placement first, the score after it.
The default order of a listing is the one labelled Best match. It is the order the directory serves: placement first, the FlymediScore after it. So it is not a ranking by score, and we never label it as one. The sort control gives you the strict orders instead: FlymediScore, number of reviews, or price. The FlymediScore sort weights review volume too, so a top score from a handful of reviews does not outrank a slightly lower one from many; the score we show on the card is unchanged.
The served order of a listing is settled before you touch it. Clinics come in placement order first, then by FlymediScore, then by number of published reviews, and a stable identifier breaks whatever tie is left, so the same listing does not shuffle between visits.
The sorts you can pick
- Best match keeps the served order described above
- Highest FlymediScore puts the best-scoring clinics first, with the number of reviews breaking ties
- Best reviews puts the most-reviewed clinics first
- Lowest price orders by the lowest listed price for the treatment you are looking at, not by the clinic's cheapest treatment
Filters run before any sort, so a sort only reorders the clinics your filters left. You can filter on price band, on a minimum FlymediScore and on accreditation.
What placement is
Placement is a value we hold against a clinic in our own database. It is a commercial matter rather than something the site works out, the policy behind it is not published yet, and so this page does not state it.
Clinics operated by Flymedi are listed first.
What ranking is not
- It is not the FlymediScore order unless you sort by score
- It is not a verification result: verification is pass or fail, and a doctor who fails is not listed at all
- It is not a clinical recommendation, and it is not advice on which clinic is right for you
