Cancer care is not a single treatment you travel for and finish. It is a plan built around your diagnosis and stage, often running over months, and much of it has to continue where you live. This page explains what cancer centres in Turkey can realistically do for someone coming from abroad, what they cannot replace, and what to check before you travel.
Figures are ranges, not promises. Suitability needs an individual assessment by a doctor.
Each clinic sets its own price, so check what the price includes before comparing two of them.

This section comes first because it matters more than anything else on the page.
Nothing on this page is medical advice, and no clinic can promise you an outcome. What is written here is intended to help you ask better questions, not to replace the conversation with your own doctor.
Some doctors had their training abroad, which explains their good English proficiency. Also, their clinics have assistants who communicate in English.
Oncology covers diagnosis, surgery, drug treatment such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy, and radiotherapy, alongside supportive and palliative care. The centres listed on this page work across those areas. Each treatment has its own page with more detail.
This is the part most pages leave out, and it is the reason cancer is different from a one visit operation.
Chemotherapy is given in cycles over months. Radiotherapy is usually daily over weeks. After treatment ends, surveillance scans and blood tests continue for years, and side effects can appear long after you have flown home. Most of that has to happen where you live, with a team who can see you at short notice.
So the practical question is not whether a centre abroad is good. It is which part of your care could sensibly happen there, and who is responsible for the rest. Ask any centre that question directly, and be wary of one that does not raise it with you first.
Cancer care is rarely one price. It is a sequence of episodes, and a quote usually covers one of them rather than the whole course. The listing on this page shows what each centre currently charges for the treatments it offers. What makes quotes differ:
Ask for a written quote that names the episode it covers and states what is excluded. Then ask what the likely total looks like if your plan runs its expected course, and what would change it. A centre that will not answer that in writing is telling you something.
Traveling abroad for treatment will open other possibilities or introduce a better, more effective treatment.
What you experience depends on the treatment, the dose and your own health, and your oncologist should go through the specifics with you before you consent. In broad terms:
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop a fever, shivering or feel suddenly unwell during or after chemotherapy, or if you have breathlessness, chest pain, uncontrolled bleeding, severe vomiting or diarrhoea, or a rapidly spreading rash. Infection during chemotherapy is treated as an emergency. If you are already home, contact your local emergency services first and tell them you are having cancer treatment, then inform the centre that treated you.
Flymedi does not diagnose you, does not give medical advice and does not treat you. Oncologists at the centre do that, working with your own team. Comparing centres through Flymedi costs you nothing.
| Specialty | Oncology, covering diagnosis, surgery, drug treatment and radiotherapy |
| Common reasons to travel | A second opinion, a specific procedure, faster diagnosis and staging, or cost |
| Needed before any plan | A confirmed diagnosis, a pathology report and staging scans |
| Who decides the plan | A multidisciplinary team at the centre, alongside your own oncologist |
| Length of treatment | Varies by diagnosis and regimen. Drug treatment runs in cycles, radiotherapy usually daily over weeks |
| What continues at home | Ongoing cycles, surveillance scans, blood tests and long term follow up |
| Common side effects | Tiredness, nausea, hair loss, raised infection risk during chemotherapy; skin changes with radiotherapy |
| Urgent symptoms | Fever or feeling suddenly unwell during chemotherapy is an emergency. Seek care immediately |
| Outcome | Depends on the cancer, its stage and how it responds. No centre can promise a result |
| Cost | Quoted per episode by each centre and shown on its listing, with what the price includes |

I had a very nice experience with Flymedi company.Mustafa from Flymedi has contacted me with the specialist and has been assisting me all the time.He did the appointment to the specialist doctor, got an official hospital address that I needed to get an emergency pass, sent the hospital information about the hotel that I booked so that a car could be sent to take me from the hotel and take me to the hospital.I was interested in my health and the way I was received and treated, transmitted the results of my analysis, and made sure I did not pay more than I was informed from the beginning. I didn't know I could be helped in this way ever. The services offered by Flymedi are complete, exactly what anyone may want in the situation when it needs the mediation of some medical services. The Istanbul Memorial Hospital has very good conditions for investigating health and treatment, providing and facilitating personal assistance for any stranger. I cordially recommend Flymedi and Memorial Hospital
