Breast implants abroad means having a breast augmentation in another country, usually booked as a package that bundles the surgeon, the implants, the operating theatre, a hotel and the transfers into one quote. This page covers what that quote should contain, which countries people travel to and why, how to check a surgeon and a clinic before you commit, which implant types exist, and what recovery, implant lifespan and revision actually involve.
Figures are ranges, not promises. Suitability needs an individual assessment by a doctor.
Each clinic sets its own price, so check what the price includes before comparing two of them.

Travelling does not change the operation. It changes everything around it: the first assessment happens remotely, the surgeon who operates is not the person who sees you when the swelling settles, and the quoted price either includes or excludes exactly the things that matter later.
Read this page as a checklist rather than a brochure. Four things decide whether travelling is worth it: the written quote, the surgeon's registration, the written rule if an implant has to be replaced, and the follow-up plan once you are home.
Four things are different: how you are assessed, who answers afterwards, how the price is built, and how much of the recovery happens away from your own doctor.
Cost is why most people start looking. It is not the only difference, and it should not decide on its own.
The trade-off is real: you give up the ability to walk into your surgeon's clinic on a bad day. Weigh that against the saving before you book, not after.
Prices differ from country to country, and they differ between surgeons inside one country more than they differ between countries. Each clinic's current price range, with its basis label, appears in the clinic list on this page rather than in this text, because clinic pricing moves.
What moves the price of a breast augmentation:
Accreditation means the facility has been inspected against a published standard by someone other than its owner. It says nothing about whether a particular surgeon suits you, so check the building and the person separately.
A handful of countries take most of the international breast augmentation work, each for different reasons. Each has its own page here, with clinics, prices and reviews.
Turkey is the country most people think of first when they talk about surgery abroad. Istanbul concentrates surgeons who operate on breasts almost exclusively, quotes are usually all-inclusive, and the volume of international patients means the clinics are set up for the travel side as well as the surgery. See breast implants in Turkey for clinics and prices.
Mexico is the practical option from North America. Tijuana, Guadalajara and Cancún are a short flight away, many surgeons trained or practised in the United States, and returning for a check-up is realistic rather than theoretical. See breast implants in Mexico.
Thailand pairs long established private hospitals with attentive aftercare and recovery conditions closer to a hotel than a ward. Bangkok and Phuket handle a steady flow of international patients, and the larger hospitals hold international accreditation, which makes Thailand a common choice from Australia and the United Kingdom despite the flight.
Colombia has a long plastic surgery tradition in Bogotá and Medellín, with a reputation for body contouring and for combining an augmentation with a lift in a single operation.
The Czech Republic is the short haul option inside Europe, and Prague clinics have been treating patients from Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom for years. The flight is short enough to make a return visit for a check-up realistic instead of managing everything remotely.
Poland is the other short haul European option, with modern private hospitals and prices set against local costs. See breast implants in Poland. Every procedure is listed on the plastic surgery page.
The clinic list on this page is built from current data: each clinic's verification status, patient reviews and price range with its basis label. You can sort it and open any clinic to see its accreditations and its medical team.
What is worth comparing between two clinics:
The implant decides how the result feels and how it ages. The type, the surface, the profile and the volume should all be named in your quote.
Smooth and textured describes the shell surface rather than the filling, and it is a safety conversation as much as a feel conversation. Ask which surface your surgeon is proposing and why, and ask for the manufacturer, the profile and the volume in writing.
Breast augmentation suits you if your breasts have finished developing, your health allows an anaesthetic, and what you want is a change your surgeon can describe back to you in plain words.
This is not the moment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you are planning a pregnancy in the near future, if you cannot safely stop anticoagulant medication, or if you are in the middle of a personal crisis and expecting the surgery to resolve it. A surgeon who accepts you without asking any of this is telling you something about the clinic.
Ask every clinic the same questions and compare the answers rather than the brochures.
Recovery happens in three stages, and only the first one takes place abroad.
Agree in writing who you contact once you are home, how quickly they reply, and whether the clinic will speak to your own doctor if something goes wrong.
Breast augmentation is real surgery with real complications, and implants are not lifetime devices. A page that says otherwise is selling you something.
Implants are replaced or removed at some point, and the timing is individual rather than fixed. Ask your surgeon what would trigger a replacement in your case, and agree before you travel who decides, who pays for surgery, hospital and flights, and how long that offer stands.
Ordinary travel insurance does not cover planned cosmetic surgery abroad or its complications. Read the exclusions on your policy and ask the clinic what cover it brings.
What you need depends on your citizenship and on the destination. Check your own case before you apply for anything, because several of the main destinations need no visa at all for short stays.
Confirm the current requirements with the embassy or consulate of the country you are travelling to before you buy tickets.
Cost does not have to decide on its own, because payment can be spread.
Whether planning a minor procedure or a more significant treatment, our payment plans ensure you can focus on your health without worrying about financial strain.
At Flymedi, we make high-quality healthcare more accessible with flexible installment options tailored to your country. Payments can be spread over up to 72 months (6 years).
The term and the availability depend on the country you live in, and the interest rate is calculated individually from your credit profile. For the conditions and the steps, see payment plans.
An all-inclusive package should remove the surprises, but ask for the exclusions to be confirmed rather than assuming them. What usually sits outside the package is the flights, extra hotel nights if the surgeon keeps you longer, medication once the supplied course runs out, meals and personal spending, a second surgical bra, and any revision surgery.
A medical payment plan works like a personal loan. You apply through a finance partner and, once approved, the funds cover the cost of treatment and you repay in instalments. Approval, the term available and the rate depend on your credit profile and on the country you live in.

I travelled to Istanbul for breast implants because I wanted a fuller shape that still looked natural on my body. The surgeon at Istanbul Aesthetic Center listened carefully and helped me choose a size that matched my proportions. The first few days of recovery were uncomfortable, but the nurses were kind and explained everything clearly. Flymedi organised the appointments and transfers very well, and I’m honestly so pleased with the final result 😊

I chose to have breast augmentation with implants and a Brazilian butt lift at the Istanbul Aesthetic Centre. The surgeon explained clearly which proportions would suit my body best and didn’t try to persuade me to go for an exaggerated result. The first few days of recovery weren’t exactly a walk in the park, especially as I had to follow quite a few instructions, but the staff were always on hand to help. Flymedi made everything much more organised and I felt supported throughout the whole process; I’m really happy with the final result!

I took my girlfriend there, and we felt the place was clean, well-organized, and not crowded. The waiting area was comfortable, with complimentary drinking water. The reception staff always greeted us with a smile. We didn't feel intimidated or uncomfortable walking in. The overall atmosphere was friendly, and the place was well-maintained.

When I first met Dr. Handan and spent some time at her clinic, I immediately felt that I had found the right doctor for the procedure we had planned. Throughout the entire process and after the treatment, I continued to feel the same sense of trust and reassurance. The results were very satisfying, and I’m truly happy with the outcome. I would like to sincerely thank Dr. Handan and her team for their care and professionalism
