Your safety and results are paramount. Finding a reputable, internationally accredited facility is a critical step in planning your Thread Lift abroad. Here’s how you can conduct thorough research:
Several countries have emerged as leaders in medical tourism, offering a perfect blend of high-quality care, affordability, and cultural appeal.
Turkey is a global leader in cosmetic procedures, known for its highly experienced surgeons, advanced clinics, and all-inclusive packages that often cover treatment, accommodation, and transfers. Istanbul, in particular, is a hub for top-tier aesthetic medicine.
With its proximity to the United States and Canada, Mexico is a convenient and popular choice. Cities like Tijuana and Cancun boast modern medical facilities and skilled surgeons who cater to international patients, offering competitive pricing and high standards of care.
Renowned for its exceptional hospitality and world-class healthcare system, Thailand is a premier destination for medical travel. Bangkok is home to internationally accredited hospitals that provide a luxurious patient experience alongside outstanding medical results.
Colombia has gained a strong reputation for excellence in cosmetic surgery. The country's surgeons are known for their artistry and skill, and cities like Bogotá and Medellín offer state-of-the-art clinics that attract patients from all over the world.

A thread lift is an excellent option for many, but it's important to have realistic expectations and understand if you are a suitable candidate. You may be an ideal candidate if:
When making your final decision, focus on these key factors to ensure a safe and successful experience:
Visa requirements vary depending on your citizenship and your chosen destination. While many countries offer visa-free travel for short stays, it is crucial to verify the specific rules. Generally, you may need to prepare the following documents:
Always check the official embassy or consulate website of the destination country for the most accurate and up-to-date visa information.
At Flymedi, we understand the importance of making healthcare accessible and manageable. That’s why we offer flexible financing options that let you spread the cost of your treatment over convenient monthly installments.
Whether planning a minor procedure or a more significant treatment, our payment plans ensure you can focus on your health without worrying about financial strain.
At Flymedi, we make high-quality healthcare more accessible with flexible installment options tailored to your country. Payments can be spread over up to 72 months (6 years).
Financing is also available in Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, and other European countries (limits vary). For Romania, France, Spain, and Italy, financing is available up to €1,500 for a maximum of 3 months.
Interest rates are based on your credit score and are calculated individually. We also accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover) with options for 3, 6, or 12-month installments, subject to a 10% processing fee. For application steps, eligibility, and more details, please visit our Payment Plan page.
To avoid surprises, ask your clinic for a detailed quote that includes all potential expenses. Watch out for costs not typically included in the initial price, such as pre-operative tests, post-operative medications, compression garments, and fees for the anesthesiologist. Also, factor in your travel, accommodation, and daily living expenses.
Financing for medical procedures abroad works similarly to a personal loan. You apply through a provider like Flymedi, and upon approval based on your credit history, the funds are made available to pay the clinic directly. You then repay the loan in fixed monthly installments over an agreed-upon term. This makes it easier to manage the cost of your Thread Lift abroad by breaking it down into affordable payments.

I rarely leave reviews but in this instance I am compelled to do so . The Kamol Hospital made me feel like a member of the Thai Royal Family from the moment I set foot in the hospital . As it turned out I was unable due to my own “Health issues” to proceed with my surgery ,however the level of professionalism compassion and care was simply first class . From the great man Dr Kamol himself to the receptionist on the front desk I was shown nothing but high levels of genuine concern and care. Simply every detail and every member of staff I came into contact with was both highly polite professional and caring . Nothing was too much trouble for this Hospital arranging free transportation and going to great lengths at every stage to keep me informed of what was happening . I have visited many hospitals on the Western world but none simply none could replicate the high degree of personal care and attention I was shown. It was simply a pleasure to meet all of the staff involved and I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital for anything .My original booking was for a full facelift and neck lift but my risk was too high . They performed 8 thread lifts on me with precision and true care .I thank you all once again for your truly professional and caring approach to me

A thread lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses temporary, medical-grade sutures (threads) to lift and tighten sagging skin on the face, neck, or jowls. The threads also stimulate collagen production, which further improves skin texture and firmness over time.
On the day of the procedure, local anesthesia is administered to numb the treatment area. The surgeon then makes tiny entry points and inserts the threads under the skin using a fine needle or cannula. The threads are gently pulled to lift the skin into a more youthful position. The procedure typically takes less than an hour.
You should not feel pain during the procedure due to the local anesthetic. You may experience some mild soreness, swelling, or discomfort for a few days afterward, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication.
Recovery is minimal. You can typically return to normal activities within a few days. However, it may take a week or more for all swelling and bruising to fully subside. You will be advised to avoid strenuous exercise and exaggerated facial movements for a couple of weeks.
Common side effects are temporary and mild. They may include swelling, bruising, numbness, and minor pain or discomfort at the insertion points. These typically resolve within a week.
The lifting effect is immediate. The results can last from 1 to 3 years, depending on the type of threads used, your age, skin condition, and lifestyle. The collagen-stimulating effects continue to improve your skin's quality over several months.
A facelift is a major surgical procedure that involves removing excess skin and tightening underlying muscles under general anesthesia, with a recovery period of several weeks. A thread lift is a non-surgical procedure that uses threads to lift the skin, performed under local anesthetic with only a few days of recovery. A facelift provides more dramatic and longer-lasting results, while a thread lift offers a subtle, natural lift with minimal downtime.
PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are one of the most common types of sutures used in thread lifts. They are made from a biocompatible material that has been used in medical surgeries for decades. They fully dissolve in the body over 4-6 months while stimulating collagen production.
Yes, other common types include PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid) and PCL (Polycaprolactone) threads. PLLA threads last longer than PDO threads (up to 2 years) and are more potent collagen stimulators. PCL threads are the longest-lasting, with results potentially enduring for over 2 years.
Absolutely. A thread lift is often combined with other non-surgical treatments like dermal fillers, botulinum toxin injections, or laser resurfacing to achieve a more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
A thread lift is not recommended if you have severe skin laxity, as a surgical facelift would be more effective. It is also not suitable for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections, or have certain autoimmune diseases.
Your surgeon will provide specific instructions. Generally, you will be asked to avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements like aspirin, ibuprofen, and vitamin E for about a week before the procedure to minimize bruising.
You will be advised to keep your head elevated for the first few nights, avoid strenuous activity for 2-3 weeks, refrain from rubbing or massaging your face, and avoid dental work or exaggerated facial expressions for a few weeks.
No. The entry points made for the threads are tiny and are made in inconspicuous areas like the hairline. They heal quickly without leaving any visible scars.
You will see an immediate lifting effect right after the procedure. The results will continue to improve over the next 2-3 months as new collagen is produced, enhancing skin texture and firmness.
When performed by a qualified and experienced medical professional in a sterile environment, a thread lift is a very safe procedure with a low risk of complications.
In the rare event of a complication or an undesirable result, smooth threads can typically be removed. Barbed or cogged threads are more difficult to remove and may require a small incision.
Many international clinics, including those on Flymedi, offer free initial consultations to help you understand the procedure and determine if you are a good candidate.
Reputable clinics provide clear post-operative support protocols. They will be available for virtual follow-up consultations and can coordinate with a local doctor in your home country if necessary.
Using a medical travel facilitator like Flymedi simplifies the entire process. We help you find and vet top-quality clinics, compare prices, arrange consultations, and manage your booking, ensuring a smooth, safe, and stress-free experience from start to finish.
