Ear, nose and throat care covers a wide range of conditions, so the procedure you need, how long you stay and what you pay all depend on your diagnosis. This page explains which ENT procedures Turkish clinics on Flymedi treat, what the listed prices cover, and how to compare clinics before you commit to anything.
Figures are ranges, not promises. Suitability needs an individual assessment by a doctor.
Each clinic sets its own price, so check what the price includes before comparing two of them.

Finding an ENT specialist abroad takes research and planning. Most patients look outside their own country for shorter waiting times, for access to a particular procedure, or because the cost at home is beyond what they can arrange. This guide covers what ENT treatment in Turkey involves, what it costs, and how to compare the clinics listed above.
Each procedure has its own page with detail on how it is done, what recovery involves and what it costs.
For the same procedure, prices in Turkey are often lower than in the UK, western Europe and North America. How much lower depends on the procedure, the hospital and what the quote covers, so compare the inclusions rather than the headline figure. A lower price does not by itself indicate a better or worse outcome.
Several hospitals treating international patients in Turkey hold accreditation such as JCI or ISO certification. Each clinic card above lists the accreditations that clinic declares, so you can check them yourself rather than taking a general claim on trust.
Istanbul is within a few hours of most of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and is well connected to further destinations. Most of the clinics listed here are in Istanbul, with others in Antalya, Izmir and Ankara. Check visa requirements for your own passport before you book anything.
Many ENT surgeons working with international patients have trained or held fellowships abroad, and several clinic cards above name the lead specialist and their years in the specialty. Experience varies between surgeons and between procedures, so ask specifically about the operation you need rather than about the clinic as a whole.
ENT prices on Flymedi are set by each clinic rather than by procedure, and start from €1,800 on a treatment only basis. Each clinic card above shows its own entry price and what that price covers. Your own quote can sit above or below the listed figure, because it is built around your diagnosis rather than a standard package.
What moves the price:
Ask for a written quote that states whether it covers the consultation, the diagnostic tests, the surgeon and anaesthetist fees, the hospital nights, medication and the follow up appointment before you fly home. Ask what is not covered, and get that in writing too. Do not assume flights, hotel, transfers or aftercare at home are included unless the clinic says so.
Instalment plans are available for many treatments booked through Flymedi, with terms, limits and interest depending on the country you live in and the finance provider available there. Card instalment plans are also possible in some markets.
Because the terms differ by country and change over time, ask a coordinator what applies to you rather than working from a general figure, and get the total repayable in writing before you commit.
Suitability is decided case by case by a specialist, after reviewing your history, your medication and your test results. There is no general rule, and having an ongoing health condition does not automatically rule you out. It does need to be known early, because it affects anaesthesia, planning and the aftercare you will need.
People who commonly come to Flymedi for ENT care include:
Tell the clinic about every medicine you take, including blood thinners and anything bought without a prescription, along with any allergies and previous operations. If your condition needs regular monitoring after surgery, discuss before you book how that will be handled once you are home.
An otolaryngologist, usually called an ENT specialist, treats conditions of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck. That covers hearing and balance, breathing through the nose, the sinuses, the voice and swallowing. Some ENT surgeons sub specialise further, for example in ear surgery, in rhinology or in voice and laryngeal work, which is worth asking about when your case is specific.
You go through your symptoms, your medical history and your medication with the specialist. For international patients this usually happens remotely first, based on records you send ahead, then in person once you arrive.
Depending on your symptoms, the specialist may order:
Ask in advance which of these are done before you travel and which after you arrive, and whether they are included in the quote.
The team checks how you are healing and adjusts the plan if needed. For international patients there is normally at least one appointment before you fly home, and remote contact afterwards. Agree in writing who you contact once you are back, and how quickly they respond.
Every operation carries some risk, and how much depends on what you are having. A diagnostic endoscopy and open surgery on the larynx sit at very different ends of that range. Your surgeon should talk you through the risks specific to your case, and to your own health, before you consent. In general terms, ENT treatment can involve:
Seek urgent medical attention if you have severe difficulty breathing, bleeding that does not stop, sudden hearing loss, a high temperature, or pain that your prescribed medication does not control. If you have already travelled home, contact your local emergency services first, then tell the treating clinic what has happened. Keep your discharge notes and the clinic's contact details with you while you recover.
Recovery depends on the procedure, how complex your case was and your own health, so treat anything general as a starting point rather than a plan. A day case under local anaesthetic and an operation needing hospital nights are not comparable. For procedure specific timelines, use the treatment pages linked above and confirm the detail with your specialist.
Ask specifically when you will be cleared to fly. Cabin pressure affects healing ears and sinuses, so after some procedures flying is delayed, and that date is a clinical decision your surgeon makes after the operation rather than something you can plan around in advance.
The three areas are part of the same upper respiratory system and share passages. The eustachian tubes connect the middle ear to the back of the throat and help regulate pressure and drainage, and the sinuses share passageways with the throat. That is why a problem in one area often produces symptoms in another, and why an ENT specialist assesses all three together rather than in isolation.
Most ear, nose and throat symptoms settle on their own and do not need surgery. Speak to a doctor where symptoms persist, keep coming back, or interfere with your sleep, breathing, hearing or voice. Common reasons people are referred to an ENT specialist include a persistently blocked nose, repeated sinus or throat infections, ear pain or discharge that does not settle, reduced hearing, ringing in the ears, hoarseness lasting more than a few weeks, difficulty swallowing, and snoring with interrupted breathing during sleep.
Itching in the throat, nose and ears together is usually related to allergy, dry air or a viral infection rather than to anything structural. Thyroid conditions can also produce throat and voice symptoms, and cold dry air can aggravate existing ear, nose and throat problems. None of these needs treatment abroad by itself. Get a diagnosis locally first, and use this page once you know what you are being treated for.
Results depend on the procedure, on the condition being treated and on the individual, and no clinic can promise a specific outcome. Some procedures aim to relieve a symptom, such as improving breathing through the nose, while others aim to repair a structure or change the voice. Ask your surgeon what improvement is realistic in your case, how it will be measured, and what happens if the result is not what you both expected.
Flymedi does not diagnose you and does not provide medical advice. The treating clinic and its specialists do that. Using Flymedi to compare clinics costs you nothing.
