What Mentor Breast Implants Involve?

It takes between an hour or two to complete the breast implant surgery –and it's usually performed as an outpatient procedure.

Once you have decided to undergo Mentor breast implant surgery, we will plan and customize the procedure to suit your personal preferences and needs and match you with the best breast implant surgeon in Turkey.

Before the surgery, you will discuss your expectations and the preferred Mentor breast implant sizing with your surgeon.

Although it can differ from one patient to another, there are four main stages involved in this procedure. Here are the primary stages of the surgery:

1. Administering Anesthesia

Your surgeon will give you intravenous sedation and general anesthesia.

2. Making Incisions

There are three different incision techniques that your surgeon can use. Your surgeon will help you decide the method best matches your anatomy and aesthetic goals. The three incision techniques are:

  • Periareolar incision: This incision is made along the bottom edge of your areola.
  • Inframammary incision: This incision is made under the breast along the bottom fold.
  • Transaxillary incision: This incision is made right at the bottom of your underarm.

3. Inserting the implants

After the incisions are made, the next step is to insert the mentor implants. There are two main options for placing implants, these are:

  • Sub-glandular placement: when using this technique, your surgeon will insert the implants behind the breast tissue and in front of the pectoral muscle.
  • Sub-pectoral placement involves placing the implant in a pocket under the pectoral muscle.

Your surgeon will use a placement type that is best for you, according to your body type, implant type, and the desired size of the breast.

4. Closing the incisions

The final step of the surgery is to close the incisions. Your surgeon will either use stitches, skin adhesive, or surgical tape to close the incision –this usually depends on the incision site.

If your surgeon uses dissolvable stitches to close the incisions, expect them to be invisible within 6 to 8 weeks. But if the surgeon uses sutures that are not absorbable but removed after seven days.

5. Post-Op Instructions

Your surgeon will prescribe medication to manage the pain. You will need to do post-procedure medical tests to monitor whether your recovery is going as planned.

You will use compressing garment to reduce the swelling for the first few weeks. Follow your doctor's aftercare instructions to speed up your recovery and maintain the surgery results.

What Should I Expect After Mentor Breast Implants Treatment?

After the surgery, you will spend the first night at the hospital under your doctor's supervision. The Mentor breast implant recovery process will take several weeks, and you may feel low degree pain and discomfort in the form of pressure around the treated area in the first two days.

It is normal to feel nausea; this is a common side effect of anesthesia. But your doctor will prescribe medication to manage the pain.

In the first few weeks of the healing process, you will wear a support bra to minimize the breasts' swelling. Also, it would help if you kept your daily activities light.

Things You Should Consider Before Mentor Breast Implants

  • A week before the procedure, you should stop taking Aspirin and any other medication that causes blood thinning.
  • If you are allergic to any drugs, you should inform your surgeon as soon as possible.
  • Avoid smoking before the surgery.
  • Consuming any alcoholic beverages can affect anesthesia. So it would be best if you did not take in anything alcoholic before surgery.
  • Follow your doctor-prescribed medication that adjusts your current medicines.

Ana was extremely helpful, friendly and made planning my trip so much easier. I don't know what I would have done without her! Going overseas to a country you've never been to before to get plastic surgery can be scary, having Ana made it a lot less scary knowing you have somebody there that's on your team to help you.
