Porcelain veneers, also called dental veneers, are very thin ceramic cells that go over the front-facing side of the tooth. They can be manufactured from porcelain or resin composite materials. As there is no winner in the battle of porcelain veneers vs. composite veneers, the most preferred type of veneer is porcelain veneers. According to a recent study by The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) reports that porcelain dental veneers are increasing by 250% over the past five years. Another statistic by the AACD also shows that 99.7% of Americans believe a smile is an important social advantage and 75% of them think that an unattractive smile may potentially harm a person's chance of finding a job.
