Op. Dr. Hakan Evrüke

Op. Dr. Hakan Evrüke graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1984. After his compulsory service at Ünaldı Health Centre in Gaziantep and his military service in Istanbul, he began his general surgery residency at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital in 1988 and qualified as a general surgeon in 1992 with a thesis on the results of the first 100 laparoscopic cholecystectomies.

Op. Dr. Hakan Evrüke was part of the Okmeydanı team behind Türkiye's first laboratory and clinical work on laparoscopic cholecystectomy in 1990. He continued at Okmeydanı as a general surgeon, trained at the European Surgical Institute in Germany and in endoscopy at Cerrahpaşa, and later ran the hospital's surgical endoscopy unit and its operating theatres. He was a consultant at Florence Nightingale Hospital from 1992 to 2011, and also at American Hospital, Acıbadem and Hayat hospitals, then worked at Private Mecidiyeköy Çevre Hospital from 2011 to 2018. He has published medical work in Türkiye and abroad, taken part in training programmes in France and Germany, and in 2026 completed the Ministry of Health's theoretical training in bariatric surgery.

Op. Dr. Hakan Evrüke is a member of the Turkish Medical Association, the Turkish Surgical Association, the National Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association and the Turkish Colon and Rectal Surgery Association, and has served on the board of the Turkish Cancer Society.
