Assoc. Prof. Muhammed Zübeyr Üçüncü

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zübeyr Üçüncü earned his medical degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine (2002 to 2008) and completed his general surgery residency at the same institution (2008 to 2013). He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in General Surgery in 2022.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zübeyr Üçüncü worked as a general surgery specialist at Arnavutköy State Hospital (2014 to 2016), Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital's Breast Health Center (2017 to 2019) and Derindere Hospital (2019 to 2021), and has since practiced at Istanbul Cerrahi Hospital and Central Hospital Etiler in Beşiktaş. He has been on the academic faculty of Istanbul Gelişim University since 2015 and has taken part in international bariatric surgery education, including the IFSO-EC webinar series and the VII Live Surgery Workshop on laparoscopic bariatric surgery in Rome. His areas of interest include gastric sleeve surgery, gastric bypass, revision bariatric surgery, metabolic and diabetes surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, gastrointestinal, breast and endocrine surgery, trauma and emergency surgery, and surgical oncology. He is a member of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), the Turkish Obesity Surgery Society, the Turkish Surgical Association, the Turkish Association of Trauma and Emergency Surgery and the Turkish Federation of Breast Diseases Societies, and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in international and Turkish journals.
