Prof. Mustafa Uygar Kalaycı

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Uygar Kalaycı was born in Konya in 1968 and graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. He completed his general surgery specialization at Ankara Oncology Hospital's 3rd General Surgery Clinic in 1998.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Uygar Kalaycı is a bariatric surgery specialist with 32 years of experience. He was Assistant Professor at Selçuk University (1999 to 2001), held chief resident roles at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk and Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospitals in Istanbul, and served as Associate Professor and clinical education director at SBÜ Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Hospital (2014 to 2019). Since 2017, he has been on the faculty of Turkey's Health Sciences University General Surgery Clinic. He has trained in transanal endoscopic microsurgery, laparoscopic colorectal surgery and cytoreductive surgery in France and Germany. His areas of interest include advanced laparoscopic surgery, interventional endoscopy, robotic surgery, and colorectal and cancer surgery. He is a member of the Turkish Surgery Society, the Hernia Society, the Turkish Colorectal Surgery Society, the National Trauma and Emergency Surgery Society, the Istanbul Surgery Society, the Surgical Oncology Society and the Turkish Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Society, and has received the TÜBİTAK International Publication Incentive Award, the Best Free Paper Award at the 7th European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery, third place in the poster session at the 26th National Gastroenterology Week, and additional publication incentive and best paper/poster awards from national and international surgical conferences (2006 to 2012).
