Ultrasonic (piezo) rhinoplasty in Turkey

Ultrasonic and piezo are two names for the same operation. A piezoelectric handpiece vibrates at ultrasonic frequency and cuts calcified tissue, meaning bone, while passing over skin, cartilage, blood vessels and mucosa without cutting them. In a traditional rhinoplasty the surgeon shapes the same bone with an osteotome and a mallet, which works but transmits force to whatever sits next to the bone.

That difference is real but narrow, and it is worth being precise about. Piezo applies to the bony third of the nose. The cartilage that makes up the tip is shaped the same way in either technique, so a patient whose concern is entirely the tip may gain little from it. Where it earns its reputation is a hump reduction or a narrowing of the bridge, where controlled cuts and less disturbance of the surrounding tissue are exactly what the job needs.

Ultrasonic rhinoplasty usually prices slightly above a traditional rhinoplasty at the same clinic, because the instrument and its consumable tips cost more and the bone work is slower. First week after the surgery

Swelling peaks in the first two or three days. Bruising around the eyes is common and is frequently reported as less pronounced than after traditional bone work, though this varies with the individual and with how much was done. Discomfort is usually described as pressure rather than sharp pain and is managed with prescribed medication; avoid aspirin and ibuprofen unless your surgeon says otherwise, because they increase bleeding.
