Dr. Anvar Ahmedov studied medicine at Osh State University in Kyrgyzstan from 2000 to 2006. After a year of Turkish language training at Gazi University, he trained in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery and hand surgery at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine from 2007 to 2012.
He completed his compulsory service at Ağrı Training and Research Hospital from 2013 to 2016 as head of its plastic surgery clinic, then led the plastic surgery clinic of Evliya Çelebi Training and Research Hospital in Kütahya from 2016 to 2018. From 2018 to 2020 he was an assistant professor and head of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Kütahya Health Sciences University, and from 2020 to 2022 administrative head of the plastic surgery clinic at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital in Istanbul.
His published work centers on hand and facial reconstruction. As first author he described transposing dorsal skin veins to solve venous problems in free flaps for the finger (Annales de Chirurgie Plastique Esthétique, 2022), and he is co-author of papers on the angular artery island flap for eyelid reconstruction (Journal of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, 2020), a mattress suture to prevent complications of nasal osteotomy (2015) and composite graft repair of fingertip injuries (2023).
He has been in private practice in Istanbul since 2022 and sees patients in Turkish and English.
