The first time I had some doubts about the intervențion , Due to the fact that the hair regenerates periodic, what I can say is that the result of a hair transplant is 100% successful. This revival comes after a period of 9 months waiting to see the result of the intervention. I recommend Flymedi and of course I recommend the person who was near me during the intervention Mr Mustafa. Mr. Mustafa is a person I rarely met. I can say that everything related to professionalism is on his side. I recommend to all those who want to have professional interventions, to have the highest confidence in Flymedi. Thank you Flymedi !

I came across FlyMedi online while looking for medical tourism options for septorhinoplasty in Turkey. I was contacted by FlyMedi's Nadia via email within hours of submitting for more information on their website. Nadia made herself available 24/7 via email and WhatsApp, even as I traveled across multiple time zones. Nadia provided multiple options in multiple locations with pros and cons and for each and stayed in touch throughout the process. I already recommended FlyMedi and specifically Nadia to friends and family considering Turkey for any medical tourism they may be considering. Thank you Nadia!

I'd been researching the procedure for a while and the cost in Australia was significantly higher than in Turkey. I came across the Flymedi website and within hours of submitting an enquiry, Nadia had reached out. She provided multiple quotes with different options, background on the doctors and hospitals. Nadia was available 24/7 and really helped me through everything from start to finish. Great business idea, exceptional staff and great customer service

I am really happy that I have planned my operation through Flymedi. Robin took great care of me and was always there for me and made everything possible. I had a breast lift and tummy tuck and had liposuction by Dr. Asli Datli. MedicalPark in Istanbul. she is a super doctor, the results has become very nice and was also there well cared for. Nurse Yeliz is adorable and has always been by my side. She was also always available and answered all my questions. I have felt very well, thanks again to all I am very satisfied.

Other contraindications for chin reduction surgery include:

  • Severe malocclusion
    Periodontal disease
    Age under 20

Overview

Chin reduction surgery, also known as reduction genioplasty or reduction mentoplasty is a type of plastic surgeryprocedure usually performed to improve the aesthetic appearance of the chin area.
The purpose of chin reduction surgery is to improve the balance and facial harmony by changing the size or shape of the chin. This procedure is performed to remove some of the bone around the jaw to provide a sharper and more balanced appearance.

Most people have a prominent chin generally due to genetics. While a strong and prominent chin can be a good appearance for malepatients, females don't usually prefer a large chin as it is symbolized masculinity. As such, most patients requiring chin reduction surgery are females, but it's not a female-only procedure, some males may also feel that a smaller chin can be more balanced with their facial proportions.

Other procedures related to chin area include:
● Chin implant surgery
● Chin augmentation or enhancement surgery
● Sliding genioplasty surgery

Reduction genioplasty or chin reduction surgery can be performed by itself or in conjunction with rhinoplasty surgery or a neck lift procedure – the latter being recommended for patients with excess skin and fatty tissue around the chin (also known as a double chin).

Preparation

Patients are required to avoid blood thinners, herbal teas, herbal supplements as well as anti-inflammatory medicines for at least 2 weeks before chin reduction surgery. Smoking is also prohibited for at least a month before and after the procedure.

How It Is Performed

Before the procedure, surgeons need x-rays of the chin area, so any anomalies can be checked. After anesthesia is applied, an incision is created in the mouth or under the chin. With the help of this incision, the bone at the end of the patient's chin is separated and then reshaped. The surgeon effectively removes excess bone until the desired result is achieved. The chin tip is repositioned with special plates and wires. Finally, the incision is closed with dissolving sutures and the chin reduction surgery is completed.

Recovery

The patient is given a post-operative compression bandage, which must be worn for several days. Postoperatively, some swelling, numbness and pain may occur, but prescribed pain relievers can help relieve the patient's discomfort. The swelling will go down in around 2 weeks and most patients can return to work in around a week. Heavy physical activities need to be avoided for at least 4 weeks – the bone needs time to heal.

Risks

Chin reduction surgery risks and complications can include:

  • Infection
    Scarring under the chin
    Allergic reactions to general anesthesia
Nerve damage that causes mouth or lip numbness

Side Effects

Chin reduction surgery side effects can include:

  • Hematoma
Swelling or bruising around the chin
    Numbness
    Pain

Success Rates

Chin reduction surgery reviews set the average success rate at around 90-95%.

Before And After

The results of chin reduction surgery can be seen immediately. The post-operative swelling will gradually decrease during the first 2 weeks of the recovery period. Patients will be able to enjoy a more harmonious balance of their facial proportions, especially if done in conjunction with a neck lift, facelift or rhinoplasty.

Faq

Are Reduction Genioplasty Results Permanent?
Yes, the results are permanent but, in some cases, patients will also have to deal with excess fatty tissue around the chin area – this problem can be solved through a neck lift procedure. Non-surgical techniques such as Botox or dermal filler will provide temporary results comparing with the chin reduction surgery.

How Long Before the Swelling Goes Down?
The swelling will disappear completely after approximately 4 months of genioplasty surgery. Approximately 2 weeks after the procedure, almost 80% of the swelling will decrease.

When Can I Engage in Contact Sports?
Patients can attend in heavy physical activities such as contact sports in around 4 weeks, but it's still a good idea to protect the chin as much as possible because the bones need a certain period of time to heal completely.
