A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) in Turkey starts at about €2,850. The operation, more precisely called gluteal fat grafting, augments the buttocks using your own fat. It also carries a higher safety risk than many other cosmetic procedures, so who performs it, where, and exactly how the fat is placed matter more here than for most treatments on this site.
Figures are ranges, not promises. Suitability needs an individual assessment by a doctor.
Each clinic sets its own price, so check what the price includes before comparing two of them.

Price and star ratings only tell part of the story. Two things predict a good, safe outcome more than anything else: where the surgeon places the fat, and how they confirm it stays there. Here's how to check both before you book.
FlymediScore blends verified patient reviews, clinic credentials and international-patient experience into one number, so you can compare clinics at a glance. Use it as a starting point, then run your shortlist through the checklist below, since that's what actually predicts a safe result.
These are the questions that matter most. Your coordinator can help you get clear answers from the clinic as part of your consultation, before you commit to anything.
Leading plastic surgery bodies worldwide agree on the same two safeguards, and they're worth understanding in plain terms.
BBL prices in Turkey start from €2,850. That single figure isn't the whole story, because a €2,850 quote and a €4,750 quote can include very different things, so scope matters as much as price.
Prices on the clinics listed on this page run from €2,850 to €4,750, and several clinics quote on enquiry once they know your goals. What moves the price is the facility, anaesthesia, how many areas you treat, and what's bundled in beyond the surgery itself, such as your garment, medicines and aftercare.
| What's in your quote | What to check |
|---|---|
| Surgeon and anaesthesia fee | Usually included in the headline price |
| Facility or hospital fee | Ask for the named hospital or clinic |
| Liposuction areas | More areas typically means a higher price |
| Compression garment and medicines | Commonly included |
| Hotel nights and transfers | Varies by package |
| Follow-up and aftercare | Ask what's covered, and for how long |
Scroll sideways for the full table
Your coordinator will confirm the exact scope of your quote during your consultation, so you know precisely what's included before you book.
UK private clinics typically charge £6,000 to £10,000 for a BBL, with the NHS citing a broader private range of £3,000 to £8,000.[1] Turkey's starting price of €2,850 sits well below both, though scope varies clinic to clinic on both sides. Always compare what's included, not just the headline figure.
Your surgeon makes the final call at your consultation. Here's what they'll be looking at.
Tell your surgical team about every medicine, supplement and health condition at your consultation, and they'll advise you on what to pause and when.
The name is imprecise, and the imprecision matters, because several different procedures get marketed under it.
| Term | What it actually is | Why it is not the same as a BBL |
|---|---|---|
| Brazilian butt lift (BBL)Gluteal fat grafting | Buttock augmentation using the patient's own fat, moved by liposuction and injection. | This is the procedure this page is about. Not technically a lift, because no tissue is surgically lifted or removed. |
| Butt lift | Surgery that removes or repositions excess skin and tissue. | Addresses laxity, not volume. A separate operation, sometimes discussed alongside a BBL, not interchangeable with it. |
| Butt implants | Silicone implants placed in or above the gluteal muscle. | A different operation with different risks. Should never be called BBL implants. |
| Liquid BBL | Injectable filler, such as Sculptra, placed in the buttocks. | Not surgical fat transfer. A separate, invasive procedure with its own serious risks and separate regulation, not a low-risk substitute. |
| Skinny BBL | A marketing term for fat grafting in patients with less donor fat. | Not a separate, standardised operation. The same subcutaneous-only, ultrasound-guided standard applies. |
Scroll sideways for the full table
Where and how that third step is done is the single most safety-critical part of the operation. See subcutaneous placement and ultrasound guidance above. This page does not publish a universal safe injection volume: that is a surgical planning decision, not a marketing figure.
ASPS describes intravenous sedation and general anaesthesia as the two options used for buttock enhancement procedures.[8] Which one is used, and how long surgery takes, depends on how many areas are treated, whether other procedures are combined, and the treating team's own protocol; this page does not state one fixed duration. The named operating facility, the anaesthetist, overnight monitoring arrangements and the hospital-transfer pathway for an emergency should all be known to you before you pay a deposit.
Planning normally includes a medical history and risk assessment, physical examination of donor and recipient areas, baseline photographs with consent, any indicated laboratory tests, an anaesthetic assessment, a VTE risk assessment, and agreement on a target shape rather than a guaranteed volume. An online photo assessment alone is not sufficient to clear a patient for surgery; it can indicate broad suitability, not replace an in-person or video assessment by the operating surgeon.
A BBL is as much a travel plan as a medical one, so it's worth getting both right from the start.
Your return-flight date is set by your surgeon based on your procedure and individual recovery, typically several days after surgery. Air travel and surgery both affect blood clot risk, so this is one date best left to your medical team rather than your itinerary.[2]
Here's what to expect week by week, though your surgeon's own instructions always come first.
| When | What is generally reported |
|---|---|
| Immediately after | Monitoring, pain, swelling, bruising and temporary numbness. Early individual walking and VTE-prevention instructions. |
| About 2 weeks | ASPS describes avoiding prolonged sitting for about two weeks, with some surgeons preferring longer, and using a pillow to keep pressure off the buttocks when sitting is necessary.[7] |
| Throughout early recovery | A compression garment worn around the clock, for the duration your surgeon specifies.[7] Sleeping on the front or side rather than the back, where advised. |
| About 6 to 8 weeks | ASPS reports that exercise can generally resume after six to eight weeks.[7] This is general guidance, not a fixed date for every patient. |
| Around 6 months | The NHS states full results take up to six months as some transferred fat is reabsorbed.[1] Early volume includes swelling, so judge the result here, not in the first weeks. |
Scroll sideways for the full table
Your return-to-work and driving dates depend on your job and your procedure, so your surgeon will confirm these at your consultation.
ASPS states that patients typically retain around 60 to 80% of the fat that is transferred.[8] That is a population range from published guidance, not an individual promise. Retained fat then behaves like the rest of your body fat: it can change with weight gain, weight loss, pregnancy and ageing. Symmetry and exact volume cannot be guaranteed, and in some cases a revision procedure may be discussed later. A BBL does not stop future skin laxity or ageing.
The NHS states plainly that BBL surgery has the highest death rate of all cosmetic procedures.[1] This is not a reason to describe the procedure as automatically unsafe wherever it is performed, but it is a reason this page keeps risk information prominent rather than treating it as a footnote.
The primary danger is pulmonary fat embolism: fat entering the bloodstream and blocking blood vessels in the lungs, which can be fatal.[1] BAAPS traces this specifically to fat being injected into the deeper gluteal muscle rather than the subcutaneous layer above it, which is why subcutaneous-only placement and real-time ultrasound are treated as non-negotiable by major plastic surgery societies, not as optional upgrades.[5]
ASPS publishes this list without quantified rates for each individual complication.[6] Treat any clinic-supplied percentage for an individual risk with the same scrutiny you would want applied to a price.
Seek emergency medical help, using local emergency services first, for:
Messaging a coordinator is not an adequate response to any of the above. This page is general information and cannot assess your symptoms.
These are different procedures with different goals, scarring, recovery and risk profiles. None is declared best here; which, if any, fits your case is a question for a consultation.
| Option | What is used | Key difference from BBL |
|---|---|---|
| Exercise and weight management | None | Can change muscle tone and overall shape within limits, with no surgical risk |
| Butt implants | Silicone implants | Immediately visible, permanent result, but a different set of surgical risks and no dependence on donor fat |
| Surgical buttock lift | Removal or repositioning of excess skin | Addresses laxity, not volume; often relevant after significant weight loss |
| Smaller-volume fat transfer | Patient's own fat | Same technique, more conservative goal, same safety standards apply |
| Liquid BBL or filler | Injectable filler | Not surgical, but not low-risk either; a separate, invasive procedure with its own serious risks |

Vacuum therapy and devices such as EMSculpt are sometimes marketed alongside BBL. This page does not treat them as equivalent to surgical fat transfer, and does not price them here.

I travelled to Istanbul for a Brazilian butt lift because I wanted a more balanced body shape and a natural-looking result. The surgeon at Istanbul Aesthetic Center explained the procedure honestly and helped me understand what would suit my proportions. Recovery required some patience, especially because of the sitting restrictions, but the nurses gave me clear instructions and checked on me regularly. Flymedi organised the appointments and transfers smoothly, and I’m really happy with the final shape 😊

I had a Brazilian Butt Lift and the results are honestly amazing. The curves look round but still natural. The clinic checked on me constantly, even after I went back home. I would totally return for future treatments.
