VASER liposuction planned area by area, with the device checked
VASER liposuction is ultrasound-assisted liposuction performed with a VASER-branded device. It is still surgery: the surgeon infiltrates fluid, uses an ultrasound probe to loosen fat and removes it through small incisions with a cannula, and it is not a weight-loss or non-surgical treatment.
Clinics in Turkey quote VASER by area, so the price depends on how many areas are treated and whether a 360 or HD plan is proposed. Before comparing quotes, confirm the exact VASER system, the named surgeon and what the package includes. Flymedi brings clinic information together and offers coordinator support for enquiries and appointments.
Figures are ranges, not promises. Suitability needs an individual assessment by a doctor.
Each clinic sets its own price, so check what the price includes before comparing two of them.

No single clinic suits every VASER plan, and a page that presents one clinic as the answer is usually selling something. The right provider for one area is often not the right choice for VASER 360, and the surgeon and the authenticity of the device matter more than the clinic brand. Compare clinics on the criteria below.
Ranked lists of VASER clinics or surgeons in Turkey are mostly paid placement or affiliate content, marketplace pages included. Nobody who publishes such a list has examined your case. Treat any ranked list, this one included, as a shortlist to investigate rather than a verdict.
Reviews are useful for logistics, communication and aftercare, and weak evidence for surgical quality, because most are written while swelling is still settling and the final contour has not been reached. Give more weight to reviews posted several months afterwards, and to reviewers who state their treated areas and surgeon.
Clinics on this page are scored from patient reviews and ordered by Flymedi, and are checked against the Ministry of Health's health-tourism authorisation list.[12] See the full reviews and comments policy and how Flymedi works for the methodology, and ask your coordinator which VASER system a specific clinic uses and how that was confirmed.
Disclosure: Op. Dr. Arda Akgün, who medically reviewed this page, is also the lead doctor at Luna Clinic Turkey and Istanbul European Clinic, both listed on this page.
For some people, yes, and the reason is price rather than a difference in the operation itself. VASER liposuction performed in Istanbul can use the same branded system and surgical principles as one performed in London, if the clinic's device is authentic. What differs is what it costs to run a clinic: staff costs, facility costs and the exchange rate. Turkey also has an unusually high concentration of clinics competing for international patients, which pushes package prices down further. There is no published evidence that this makes the operation itself different, and no country suits every patient in the abstract.
The part that varies most is not the country, it is the provider. Turkey requires clinics treating international patients to hold an International Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate from the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry publishes the list of authorised providers.[12][13] Holding that certificate says nothing about surgical quality, or about whether a clinic's VASER system is authentic, current, or serviced. NHS guidance on cosmetic surgery abroad recommends two separate consultations before booking and checking how the surgeon and facility are regulated in their own country.[11]
In the priced clinic listings on this page, starting prices for VASER liposuction in Turkey run from €1,850 to €2,950 (Treatment only). Clinics price VASER per area, so the final figure depends on how many areas are treated, whether both sides are included and the package scope, not on the country itself.
| Scope | What it involves | Typical price position |
|---|---|---|
| Single area | One defined area, for example abdomen or flanks | Shown on each clinic card |
| Two to three areas | Commonly abdomen plus flanks, or arms plus another area | Please inquire |
| VASER 360 | Circumferential torso contouring; exact areas vary by clinic | Please inquire |
| VASER HD, Hi-Def or 4D | An approach aiming at visible muscle definition, not a fixed area package | Please inquire |
| Revision surgery | Correcting a previous procedure performed elsewhere | Please inquire |

A price quoted without the exact areas, whether bilateral, and the VASER system used is not one you can compare against another clinic. See how clinics define areas, 360, HD and 4D.
The clinic quote covers the procedure and whatever it states as included. Separately budget for flights, a companion's costs if one travels with you, any extra hotel nights beyond the package, food and local transport, garments or medicines the package excludes, travel insurance, time off work, and a contingency for follow-up care.
Lower prices in Turkey come from structural cost differences: clinic staff costs, premises costs and the lira exchange rate all sit well below UK equivalents, and Istanbul has a dense cluster of clinics competing for the same international patients. That is not evidence the operation itself is different. A higher price does not prove higher quality, and a lower price does not by itself mean an inexperienced surgeon; what it should prompt is the same verification either way. See how to check a clinic and device.
VASER is a brand of ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL), often shortened to VASER lipo; the name stands for vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance.[6] It is invasive surgery, not a non-surgical fat-reduction treatment, a weight-loss treatment, or an automatically safer version of liposuction.
During VASER liposuction, a surgeon infiltrates fluid into the treated area, makes small incisions, uses an ultrasound probe to assist fragmentation or emulsification of subcutaneous fat, then removes the fat by cannula suction.[1] Ultrasound energy assists the process; it does not make fat disappear without removal, and it does not mean only fat is affected while every other tissue is left untouched.
VASER liposuction can contour selected deposits of subcutaneous fat when clinically appropriate. It is not obesity treatment, bariatric surgery, or a predictable method of weight loss.[2] It does not remove visceral fat around internal organs, does not reliably remove cellulite or stretch marks, does not repair muscle separation or fascial laxity, and does not reliably remove substantial loose skin. It cannot promise a flat stomach, visible muscle definition, symmetry, or a specific clothing size, and it does not stop future weight change or ageing. If muscle separation or loose skin is the main concern, see tummy tuck in Turkey.
Specific VASER systems hold FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States, which means the device was found substantially equivalent to an existing one for its stated indication, not that the FDA "approved" it in the way a new drug is approved.[9][10] A US clearance record does not certify a Turkish clinic, a specific surgeon, an outcome, or an off-label combination with another device. Current manufacturer identity, model generation and regulatory status should be checked for the exact system a clinic actually uses, not assumed from an older record.
Every quote should state the exact areas, not just a headline label. "360", "HD" and "4D" describe an approach or a marketing package, not a standardised technical category with one universal definition.
Reported areas include the abdomen (upper, lower, or both), waist and flanks, back and bra-line fat, male chest, arms, thighs, and chin or neck. Whether abdomen means upper, lower or both, whether waist and flanks are counted as one area or two, and whether inner and outer thighs are separate all change what a quote actually covers. For enlarged male breast tissue rather than fat, see gynecomastia surgery in Turkey.
VASER 360 generally refers to circumferential torso contouring, treating the front, sides and back as one plan rather than a single area. There is no universal area definition, so ask exactly which zones a specific clinic's 360 package covers before comparing it with another clinic's. Lipo 360 describes where fat is removed, the whole torso, while VASER describes the device used to remove it. A 360 plan can be done with VASER or with standard suction-assisted liposuction, so ask which technique a 360 quote includes; see lipo 360 in Turkey.
HD, Hi-Def, 4D, "athletic" and "etching" describe an approach aimed at visible muscle definition, not standardised levels of VASER technology or a promised result. Whether visible definition is achievable depends on your anatomy, fat thickness, existing muscle development, skin quality, weight stability and healing, not on which label a clinic uses for its package. For abdominal etching as its own procedure, see six pack surgery in Turkey.
"Full-body VASER" is not a standardised clinical operation. Before treating it as a single package, ask for the exact areas, whether it is staged across more than one session, the anaesthetic duration, and how the plan is monitored, rather than accepting the phrase as a scope in itself.
No technique suits every case. The right one depends on the areas treated, fat and skin quality, and the surgeon's assessment, not the brand name on the machine. For how every liposuction technique compares, and what standard liposuction costs per area, see liposuction in Turkey.
| Name | What it describes | How fat removal is assisted | Practical consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| SALSuction-assisted liposuction | The baseline technique: fat is removed by cannula and suction after fluid infiltration.[1] | Mechanical suction, no added energy device | Well-established, widely available; requires surgeon effort to contour by hand |
| Tumescent infiltration | An infiltration approach, not a competing device. Large-volume fluid is infiltrated before suction to reduce bleeding and aid contouring. | Not a removal method itself, an infiltration technique used alongside SAL, PAL or VASER | Can be combined with any of the techniques in this table |
| PALPower-assisted liposuction | A motorised cannula vibrates rapidly to help dislodge fat, which is then removed by suction. | Mechanical vibration, no ultrasound or laser energy | Can reduce surgeon fatigue on larger cases; no established superiority over SAL for outcomes |
| UAL / VASERUltrasound-assisted liposuction | An ultrasound probe assists fragmentation or emulsification of fat before suction removal. VASER is one brand of UAL device. | Ultrasound energy plus suction | Adds a specific risk of thermal or heat injury not present with SAL or PAL; device identity should be verified |
| LALLaser-assisted liposuction | A laser fibre assists fat breakdown before suction. SmartLipo is one brand among several. | Laser energy plus suction | Device and brand names are not generic evidence of superiority; carries its own thermal-risk profile |
| WALWater-assisted liposuction | A pressurised, fan-shaped water jet helps separate fat, which is then removed by suction. | Water-jet infiltration plus suction | Less widely available in Turkish clinic listings than SAL, PAL or VASER |

Some clinics offer VASER alongside a separate energy device such as Renuvion/J-Plasma, BodyTite or radiofrequency, marketed for skin tightening. These are separate devices with their own regulatory status, indication and risk profile. Combining two energy devices is not established as safer or more effective simply because it involves more technology, and any result or adverse event should not be attributed to VASER alone when an adjunct was also used.
Harvesting fat with VASER and reinjecting it, for a Brazilian Butt Lift or other fat transfer, are two distinct parts of a combined operation, each with its own risks. VASER does not eliminate the separate risks of gluteal fat grafting, and laboratory fat-cell viability data does not establish better long-term graft survival or a safer BBL. See BBL in Turkey for procedure-specific safety information rather than treating a BBL as a simple add-on here.
Suitability is assessed by a surgeon, not by a checklist on this page, but the factors below are what that assessment actually weighs.[7]
There is no single universal BMI cut-off or postpartum waiting period that applies to everyone. Final suitability and timing belong to the treating surgeon and anaesthesia team, based on an individual assessment.
Brand, device, surgeon and treatment plan are four separate checks. A photograph of a machine, or a logo on a brochure, does not confirm any of them.
| Ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Who is the named operating surgeon, and what is their registration? | Confirms who is actually accountable for the surgery |
| Exactly which areas are included, and is it bilateral? | Prevents a quote that turns out narrower than expected |
| What exact VASER system does the facility use? | Confirms the device claim rather than the brand name alone |
| What anaesthesia is planned, and by whom? | Anaesthesia risk is separate from the surgical risk |
| What happens if the plan changes after in-person assessment? | Scope sometimes changes once a surgeon examines you directly |
| What is the revision policy, and what does it cost? | Sets expectations before, not after, a disappointing result |
| Who handles a complication after I have returned home? | Determines your real safety net once you have left Turkey |

1
A proper plan names the operating surgeon, confirms exact areas and bilateral definition, the exact VASER system, anaesthesia type and facility, and a thrombosis-assessment and aftercare plan, before you travel. Ask whether a surgeon reviewed your case, not only a coordinator.
2
Expect pre-operative tests as directed by the clinic. This page does not give personalised instructions to stop or start medicines, supplements, alcohol or nicotine: follow your surgical and anaesthesia team's instructions, and disclose everything you take.
3
Marking and a final assessment, anaesthesia or sedation as planned, fluid infiltration, small access incisions, ultrasound-assisted fragmentation using the verified system, cannula suction and contour assessment, then closure, dressings and a garment. Duration and whether drains or overnight monitoring are used vary by scope.[4]
4
An in-person review before departure, surgeon clearance to fly based on your specific case, written aftercare instructions in English, and a contact route that works once you are home. Sightseeing or heavy activity during early recovery is not part of a sensible plan.
Flymedi's pre-operative guide covers preparation in more detail.
Recovery is gradual, not a fixed one-week event, and varies by areas treated, volume, combined procedures and individual healing.[5] Your clinic's instructions take priority over any general timeline.
| When | What can happen |
|---|---|
| Days 1 to 3 | Swelling, bruising, soreness and drainage are expected. A compression garment is worn as prescribed by the surgeon. |
| First 1 to 2 weeks | Many people manage light activity within this window, though this varies with areas treated and combined procedures. Walking is encouraged for thrombosis prevention. |
| Weeks 2 to 6 | Bruising fades. Temporary firmness, induration and contour irregularity are common during this stage and are not the final result. |
| Around weeks 4 to 6 | Exercise and more strenuous activity are typically reintroduced on the surgeon's confirmation, not a fixed date that applies to everyone. |
| Months 3 to 6 | Swelling and firmness continue settling. Early contour change is not the same as final settling. |
| Beyond 6 months | Final contour is usually assessed here. Revision, if needed, is considered after adequate healing, not before. |

| Activity | Typical guidance |
|---|---|
| Desk work | Often within a week to ten days, surgeon-confirmed |
| Driving | Once pain-free and off sedating medication, surgeon-confirmed |
| Exercise and gym | Typically from around 4 to 6 weeks, surgeon-confirmed |
| Sexual activity | Once comfortable and surgeon-confirmed |
| Massage or lymphatic drainage | Only if prescribed and performed appropriately |

These are general ranges, not universal instructions. Showering, garment-wear hours and massage frequency should follow your clinic's own written aftercare protocol, which takes precedence over this table.
VASER liposuction carries the general risks of surgical liposuction, plus risks specific to ultrasound energy. Both sets are given prominent placement here rather than buried below marketing copy.
A large 2024 analysis of 246,119 liposuction cases in accredited US outpatient facilities, 2019 to 2021, recorded an overall confirmed-complication rate of 0.40%, a venous thromboembolism rate of 0.03%, and a mortality rate of 0.009%.[15] ASPS lists bleeding, infection, fluid accumulation (seroma), numbness, scarring, contour irregularities, and, rarely, more serious complications including thrombosis, fat embolism and organ perforation.[3]
| Complication | Reported rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Any minor complication | 3.02% (45 of 1,486 cases) | No major complications recorded in this series |
| Sensory change / numbness | 2.28% | The largest single category |
| Tissue stiffness (induration) | 1.74% | Can persist for weeks to months while settling |
| Seroma | 1.00% | Fluid collection; ultrasound energy is a recognised contributing factor |
| Hyperpigmentation | 0.33% | |
| Prolonged oedema | 0.06% |

Separately, ultrasound-assisted liposuction carries a recognised, if uncommon, risk of thermal or heat injury and skin necrosis from the heat that the ultrasound energy produces, which is why probe technique, device authenticity and surgeon training matter specifically for VASER.

I had Vaser liposuction on my flanks and abdomen, and the result was better than I hoped for. The staff was friendly and the whole process was well-organized. I was up and moving fairly quickly, and the swelling went down much faster than I expected. The contour is amazing 🔥
