FUE moves your own hair follicles from the back and sides of your head to where you are thinning. Two things decide what you pay and what you get: how many grafts you need, and who actually performs the operation. This page explains both, along with what recovery really looks like and what to ask before you book.
Figures are ranges, not promises. Suitability needs an individual assessment by a doctor.
Each clinic sets its own price, so check what the price includes before comparing two of them.

Follicular unit extraction, usually shortened to FUE, takes individual follicular units from a donor area and places them where hair has thinned. The follicles are your own, which is why the result looks like your hair rather than an implant. What it cannot do is create hair you do not have: everything transplanted comes out of a finite donor area, and how much you have there is the limit on what is possible.
Doctors abroad speak and communicate in English
A graft is a follicular unit, and each one holds a small number of hairs. Almost every quote you receive is built around a graft count, so this is the number to understand before you compare prices.
How many you need depends on how far your loss has progressed, how large an area you want covered, how dense your donor area is and how coarse your hair is. It is assessed in person, or from clear photographs, by someone qualified to assess it. A number quoted before anyone has looked at your scalp is a sales figure rather than a plan.
Some doctors had their training abroad, which explains their good English proficiency. Also, their clinics have assistants who communicate in English.
Assistance Before, During, and After Treatment
This is the single most useful question you can ask, and the one clinics answer least clearly. A hair transplant is a medical procedure. Ask by name who will make the incisions in your recipient area, whether that person is a doctor, and how much of the operation they will personally carry out.
Trained technicians assist with parts of the work in most clinics, which is normal. What is not normal is a doctor who appears for a photograph and is not involved in the operation itself. Ask whether you will meet the doctor before the day, whether they design your hairline, and whether they are present throughout. Get the answer in writing, and be wary of a clinic that will not name anyone.
Medical tourism agencies will assist you before, during, and after treatment. It includes free doctor consultations and all necessary arrangements for medical travel such as airplane bookings, hotel arrangements, transport, plus guides on having a successful surgery.
You will find the surgeons are highly experienced with years of practice. Their clinics are accredited by renowned institutions like Joint Commission International JCI or International Organization for Standardization ISO.
Each clinic sets its own price and the listing on this page shows what each currently charges. What moves the figure:
Ask for a written quote stating the graft count, who operates, what technique is used, what is included and what happens if the count changes on the day. If a package looks far cheaper than the others, the difference is usually in one of those answers rather than in generosity.
At Flymedi, we understand the importance of making healthcare accessible and manageable for everyone. That’s why we’re excited to offer flexible financing options that let you spread the cost of your treatment over convenient monthly installments. Up to 36-month plans: Interest rates range from 7.5% to 15%, depending on your credit history and employment status. Whether planning a minor procedure or a more significant treatment, our payment plans ensure you can focus on your health without worrying about financial strain.
FUE suits people with pattern hair loss that has settled into a recognisable shape, a donor area with enough density to draw from, and expectations that match what the donor can supply.
It suits you less well if your loss is still advancing quickly, particularly if you are young. Transplanted hair stays, but the hair around it can keep receding, which leaves a transplanted patch with a gap behind it. That is why many surgeons ask you to stabilise the loss medically first, and why one who agrees to operate immediately without discussing it is not doing you a favour.
Diffuse thinning without a clear pattern, scarring conditions of the scalp and some medical causes of hair loss need a diagnosis before anyone discusses surgery. Suitability is a clinical judgement, made after examining you.
We’ve designed our payment plans to suit patients in different regions, with varying limits and terms:
In the first days expect swelling, redness and small crusts around each graft, and a donor area that feels tender. Your clinic will tell you how to sleep, when to wash and what to avoid. Follow their instructions rather than general advice, because the first washes matter and the grafts are fragile at the start.
Most people are back to desk work within a few days and can hide the evidence with a hat outdoors, though the donor area stays visible while it is short. Exercise, swimming, saunas and direct sun are restricted for longer, and your clinic will give you the timeline.
Major Regions:
A few weeks after the operation the transplanted hairs shed. This alarms almost everyone it happens to, and it is expected. The visible hair is lost; the follicle stays and regrows. Some people also shed native hair around the transplanted area for a while, which recovers.
Regrowth then comes in slowly. There is a long stretch where very little seems to be happening, and the result keeps improving well past the point most people expect to be finished. Judge the outcome at the end of that period rather than partway through, and do not book a second procedure before your surgeon says the first one has finished growing.
Contact a doctor promptly if you have spreading redness, increasing pain, pus or discharge, a fever, or swelling that worsens rather than settles. If you have already flown home, see a doctor locally and tell the clinic what has happened.
Interest Rates:
FUE does leave scars, and any clinic telling you otherwise is overselling. Each extraction leaves a small round mark in the donor area. They are tiny and scattered rather than a single line, which is the difference from the older strip technique, and they are usually hidden once the hair grows back.
They can show if you shave your head very short, and they show more if a large number of grafts were taken or the extraction was done carelessly. If you like wearing your hair very short, say so before the operation, because it changes how the donor area should be harvested.
FUT, the older strip technique, removes a strip of scalp from the donor area and divides it into grafts under a microscope. It leaves a single line scar, which is hidden by longer hair, and it can yield a large number of grafts in one session. FUE takes units individually and leaves scattered dot scars instead.
Most clinics in Turkey offer FUE, and most patients travelling there have it. Neither technique is better in the abstract; which suits you depends on your donor area, how many grafts you need and how you wear your hair. Ask your surgeon to explain why they are recommending one over the other in your case.
For those with high credit card limits, we also offer installment plans via VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards, with 3, 6, or 12-month terms.

Medical tourism is an increasingly popular option for individuals seeking high-quality, cost-effective healthcare. For many, the financial burden of upfront payments can be a barrier to accessing treatment abroad. Opting for installment payment plans offers several advantages that make medical treatments more accessible and manageable.
Instalment plans are available for many treatments booked through Flymedi, with terms, limits and interest depending on the country you live in and the finance provider available there. Ask a coordinator what applies to you and get the total repayable in writing before you commit.
Hair transplants are cosmetic, so they are not covered by health insurance, and standard travel insurance usually excludes anything connected to a procedure you travelled for. Budget for a possible second session as well as the first.
Flymedi does not diagnose you, does not give medical advice and does not perform the procedure. The clinic and its doctors do that. Comparing clinics through Flymedi costs you nothing.
By leveraging installment payment plans, individuals can access high-quality medical care abroad while maintaining financial stability. This approach ensures a balance between receiving the best treatment and managing personal finances responsibly.
We’ve created payment plans to fit the needs of patients in different regions, with varying terms and limits:
You can choose installment plans with VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover if you have a high credit card limit. Terms include 3, 6, or 12 months. We’re here to help! My main issue was severe thinning on the vertex/crown area while my front hairline was mostly okay. Dr. VIVO’s team performed a Sapphire FUE session paired with PRP therapy to boost the existing follicles. The clinic facility is super modern and squeaky clean, felt like a high-end private medical center. 4 months in and the crown area is filling in nicely with no visible scarring at the back. Worth every single penny! 👍

I had a FUE Transplant combined with PRP, which the doctor suggested for better density. The surgery day was long but the team kept me relaxed with music and conversation. I did have some swelling around the forehead for 2 days but it disappeared quickly. The hairline looks natural and matches my face well. I’m honestly shocked at how real it looks, not like surgery at all. Super pleased with the decision.

Went through a FUE hair transplant last year and the results are finally showing in full. The procedure was surprisingly comfortable and the aftercare was excellent. I had a few itchy nights but nothing major. Now my hairline looks youthful again and I’m buzzing with confidence

I had my FUE Hair Transplant at Dr Vivo a few months back and honestly I’m still impressed every day. The team were very welcoming from the start, making me feel at ease even tho I was quite nervus. The procedure itself took longer than I expected but they explained why and kept me calm. First few nights were a bit sore, but nothing unbearable at all. Now my hairline looks natural and people keep saying I look younger 😅. Honestly worth every penny.
