Chin liposuction in Turkey

• Fat, which liposuction treats

  A soft, pinchable layer under the chin in someone with reasonable skin tone. This is the case that does well, and it is the only one liposuction alone is designed for.

• Loose skin, which it does not

  If the skin has lost elasticity, removing the fat beneath it reveals the looseness rather than tightening it. A neck lift removes skin; liposuction cannot.

• A receding chin

  When the chin sits far back, the profile looks full even with little fat. Moving the chin forward changes that far more than suction does.

• Muscle bands or a salivary gland

  Vertical neck bands are muscle, and a submandibular gland sitting low is glandular tissue. Neither is fat, and mistaking them for fat is how people end up disappointed.

   Assessment

   The surgeon pinches the area, checks skin tone by releasing it, feels for muscle bands and glands, and looks at your profile. This examination is the whole decision.

   Local anaesthetic

   Usually done awake, sometimes with sedation. It is a short procedure.

   Small entry points

   Typically one under the chin and one behind each ear, a few millimetres each. They fade to near invisibility.

   Suction with fine cannulas

   The fat layer under the chin and along the jaw is reduced evenly. Removing too much creates hollows and irregularity that are difficult to correct.

   Compression garment

   A chin strap worn for a period. It affects how the skin redrapes and is not optional.

• Anaesthetic. Local anaesthetic alone costs less than sedation or general anaesthetic.
• Whether anything is combined. A chin implant, a neck lift or an energy-assisted device changes the operation and should be priced separately.
• The technique. Standard suction, laser-assisted or ultrasound-assisted systems are priced differently.
• Garments and follow-up. Whether the strap and review appointments are included.
