Neck lifting is a cosmetic surgery procedure that removes
excess skin and fat around your chin line, creating a firmer, contoured,
youthful-looking neck. The results of the neck lift procedure can be
satisfactory as well as long lasting, but like other cosmetic procedures, they
cannot stop the aging process. The purpose of a neck lift is to reduce the
signs of aging in the lower face area and is usually performed as part of a
face lift procedure.

What Does a Neck Lift Surgery Involve?
Neck lift is usually performed while the patient is under general anaesthesia. Surgeons require patients to follow all the pre-surgery guidelines so as to ensure the success of the procedure.
It usually takes 3 hours to complete the whole neck lift surgery, this, of course, depends on the complexity of the surgery. If you decide to undergo this surgery, rest assured that we will make sure that you have a pleasant trip and the procedure will be customized to suit your preferences, goals as well as the clinic’s practices. Below is an outline of what to expect when you choose to have this procedure.
1. Final consultation with your surgeon
When you arrive at the clinic, you will have a face-to-face consultation with your neck lift specialist surgeon. During this session you are expected to inform the surgeon about your medical record, allergies and if you’re currently taking any medication. Even after telling your surgeon about your medical record, it’s mandatory that you go through some medical tests. Afterwards you will discuss the procedure in detail. If you are on the same page with your surgeon, he/she will make an illustration by drawing some marks on your face as he/she prepares you for the surgery.
2. Taking the anesthesia
When the test results are out and your surgeon is satisfied, you will be then given anaesthesia. Surgeons usually prefer general anaesthesia, but sometimes they can administer local anaesthesia or sedation. Your surgeon will choose the best anesthesia for you.
Once the anesthesia comes into effect, the surgeon will then begin performing the procedure. Depending on the changes you’d like to see on your neck, you have two neck lift choices: traditional neck lift incision or a limited incision neck lift. Suppose your surgeon opts for the traditional neck lift, expect it to be made from the hairline at the level of sideburn, and it continues down, around the ear and it ends in the posterior hair. But when it’s a limited incision neck lift, incisions will also only be made around the ear and they will be a bit shorter. Either way, when incisions are made, fat deposits will be redistributed from the jowls and neck. The tissues underlying the neck skin will be repositioned as the platysma muscle is tightened.
What Should I Expect from a Neck Lift Procedure?
Things You Should Do Before Surgery
Is Neck Lift Painful?
You may feel pain or soreness after the procedure is done. However, your surgeon may prescribe painkillers to relieve this pain and discomfort.
Does Neck Lift Leave a Scar?
Typically, the incisions for neck lift surgery is made under the chin and behind the ears. Most of the patients experience that the scars heal very well and are barely noticeable after their recovery is completed.
What Is A Micro Neck Lift?
Micro neck lift is an endoscopic procedure in which the surgeon makes an incision next to each ear and inserts an endoscope with a tiny camera through the incision. This technique allows surgeons to make precise changes to the neck muscles.
