Vaser Liposuction

Vaser Lipo is one of the next generation liposuction surgeries available in clinics all around the world. All types of liposuction are conducted in order to remove fat tissue, especially the one which does not shrink despite diet and exercise. Similarly to Smart Lipo and Slim Lipo, Vaser Lipo aims at making liposuction procedure quicker and less painful. In the same time, it results in shorter liposuction recovery time and smaller scars. Vaser Lipo does not utilize a laser for the purpose of liposuction. Instead, it is called an ultrasonic liposuction, since the fat liquefaction is achieved thanks to ultrasounds. The liquefied fat tissue is then removed through a small tube and can serve in other cosmetic procedures, for example, a fat transfer or breast augmentation.

Vaser Liposuction Candidates

Many people want to undergo liposuction surgery without much of suffering and visible scarification. Next generation liposuction procedures such as Vaser Lipo make it possible and for this reason, more and more people decide for this revolutionary fat removal surgery.

Am I Suitable for Vaser Liposuction?

If you do want to fight with stubborn fat with liposuction surgery and avoid extensive scars and long recovery period in the same time, Vaser Lipo seems like a good solution for you.

Preparing for Vaser Liposuction

As in the case of other cosmetic surgeries, you need to inform your doctor about all your medical conditions and medicines you take first. It is important as well to stop taking blood-thinners such as aspirin a few days before your Vaser Lipo. Finally, smoking is recommended neither before nor after your fat removal surgery, in order to guarantee a successful liposuction recovery.

How is Vaser Liposuction Performed?

The key difference between Vaser Lipo and other types of liposuction is the use of ultrasound, hence the other name – ultrasonic liposuction. In the beginning, saline mixed with anaesthetics is injected into treated area. Then, a Vaser is inserted through a small incision and liquefies fat tissue with ultrasound. Finally, liquid fat is removed through a small tube. This fat may be also of use in other cosmetic surgeries such as a fat transfer or breast augmentation.

Vaser Liposuction Recovery

Thanks to the use of local anaesthesia and small incisions made during the liposuction, Vaser Lipo allows for a quite quick liposuction recovery. Depending on an area being treated, Vaser Lipo patients are able to come back to work after as little as four to seven days. During first weeks after your liposuction surgery, you will be asked to wear compression garments, which are a guarantee of better results. As for sports and other strenuous physical activities, it is better to wait one or two weeks and come back to them only with a doctor’s permission.

Vaser Liposuction Risks and Complications

Potential risks and complications related to Vaser Lipo are not that different from other types of liposuction. In very rare cases an infection or even necrosis may develop, but these can be dealt with by specialist who conducted your liposuction. Additionally, there is a small risk of excessive bleeding, swelling, and bruising – if you spot these signs you should contact your doctor as well.

Vaser Liposuction Side Effects

To typical Vaser liposuction side, effects belong swelling and mild bruising – these will pass with time and should not be a matter of your concern as long as they do not take excessive size.

Vaser Liposuction Success Rates

Vaser Lipo is thought to have a higher success rate than normal liposuction. This is due to smaller incisions and shorter time of liposuction surgery – the potential for complications like infection or necrosis is significantly decreased. A 2007 survey on VASER liposuction sets the patient satisfaction rate at around 84%.

Before and After Vaser Liposuction

Within weeks after your Vaser Lipo, you should be able to spot a positive change in your body. New, smoother abdomen or the other body part should better represent how you really feel. The final results, however, as in the case of other types of liposuction, are to be expected within months, not weeks after your ultrasonic liposuction.

Vaser Liposuction FAQ

What is the Difference between Vaser Lipo and Slim Lipo?
Vaser Lipo uses ultrasound to liquefy fat tissue, while Slim Lipo utilizes a delicate laser for the same purpose.

Can Vaser Lipo be Used to Conduct a Fat Transfer?
Yes, similarly to other types of liposuction, Vaser Lipo can be used for the purpose of fat transfer procedure. The liquefied fat is even more practical for such cosmetic surgeries.

Why Should I Choose Vaser Lipo over Normal Liposuction?
Vaser Lipo guarantees you shorter liposuction surgery, shorter and less painful recovery time and finally – smaller, almost invisible scars. Therefore, it is a better fat removal surgery than traditional liposuction.

Traditional Liposuction VS VASER Liposuction

VASER liposuction is a relatively new liposuction technique used for body reshaping and fat reduction. While traditional liposuction techniques and newer procedures generally follow the same idea - to reduce fatty tissue from different areas of the body, the methods used and results can vary to some degree. Let’s look at the basics of traditional liposuction compared to VASER liposuction.

Traditional Liposuction

Traditional liposuction is a type of plastic surgery which removes excess fatty tissues through suction with the help of a cannula – a hollow tube. The patient is put under general anaesthesia and several small incisions are made in the area with excess fat. Saline solution is injected into the incisions in order to further break up the fatty tissue. The cannula is then inserted through the incisions, extracting fat cells permanently. Traditional liposuction can be broken down further into two main techniques: Power assisted liposuction or PAL and suction assisted liposuction or SAL. Both of these techniques use incisions as the main entry point for the cannula but PAL uses a vibrating cannula while with SAL the surgeon will have to manually break fat deposits from the target area.

VASER Liposuction
VASER Liposuction is a minimally invasive type of plastic surgery which can be performed under local anaesthesia, depending on the targeted area. The fatty deposits within the targeted area are liquefied with the help of ultrasound waves, without damaging surrounding tissues such as blood vessels or muscle tissue. The fat is then safely extracted through aspiration with the help of the cannula. The removal of fatty tissue from any area of the body will stimulate the production of collagen, resulting in a much tighter and smoother skin for the patient once the procedure is done.

VASER Liposuction Benefits

As outlined in a 2006 article on liposuction, VASER offers a few notable benefits compared to other techniques:

  • Shorter Recovery Period – VASER liposuction requires a much shorter recovery time since it’s a minimally invasive procedure, as opposed to a traditional liposuction which requires a longer recovery period due to larger incisions and potential injuries done under the skin during the process.
  • Pain-Free Procedure – VASER liposuction is very comfortable for the patient as well and practically pain-free, as opposed to traditional liposuction which requires forceful thrusts with the cannula under the patient’s skin.
  • Local Anaesthesia – VASER offers doctors the option of administering only local anaesthesia while most traditional liposuction procedures are performed under general anaesthesia.
  • Better Looking Skin – This type of liposuction will greatly improve your skin’s elasticity allowing the body to adapt to its new shape with ease, while traditional liposuction can leave irregular lumps of fatty tissue or even blood clots under the skin.
  • No Scarring Vaser lipo does not leave any scars or sutures from the incision, while traditional liposuction incisions are larger and require sutures to properly close.
  • No Further Surgery Required – Traditional liposuction may require further procedures such as body contouring or skin tightening in order to achieve the best possible results. These extra procedures can be expensive as well as time consuming for the patient.
