Flymedi- Abud Alielah

I found flymedi based on a recommendation by a friend of the family, I was given Abud contact with high recommendation of his service and I was not disappointed at all ! From day one Abud was very helpful and professional. Abud found for me the suitable medical center and the perfect surgeon! He was always available day and night and on weekends as well and very patient with my unlimited questions and inquiries :) and very clear with provided information. After agreeing on the price, place, doctor and dates of the surgery, Abud took care of and planned everything from the day of arrival until the departure, including the hotel, driver, dates of surgery, consultations and more. I am very satisfied, everything was great 👍🏻 I would definitely use his services again I definitely recommend ✅ ✅ ✅

Never expected such a great hospitality from Flymedi as a foreigner. From the time I landed in Turkey to the time I come back in my country I was treated as a friend. Thank you Yasmin for guiding me all the way. As you promised, I was not placed on the wait list.

Made my trip overseas so much easier!

Yasmin was extremely helpful, friendly and made planning my trip so much easier. I don't know what I would have done without her! She told me how to get a travel visa and luckily warned me of any travel restrictions that were going on! I had to rebook my trip twice due to covid & restrictions and Yasmin handled everything on the hospitals end. One of the times I had to rebook it was because my layover was in london and Turkey banned all incoming travel from the UK. The airline never notified me so if it wasn't for Yasmin warning me I would have gotten on the plane and been stuck in london! Going overseas to a country you've never been to before to get plastic surgery can be scary, having Yasmin made it a lot less scary knowing you have somebody there that's on your team to help you.

Recommended For Cochlear Implant

Cochlear implants are a widely-recognized treatment for patients with severe bilateral hearing loss and sensorineural hearing loss. Recently, the indications for this treatment include patients with more residual hearing, single-sided deafness, and asymmetric hearing loss and even those with long-time deafness. It is an effective treatment applying in adults and suitable for children. Cochlear implant for babies is also beneficial to fight against the lack of progress in the development of auditory skills.

Cochlear implantation is a relatively new procedure, which has already had significant impact on the lives of many profoundly deaf children and adults, in providing useful hearing to those unable to benefit significantly from hearing aids.

Cochlear Implant is an electronic medical device that exchanges the function of the damaged inner ear. Other than hearing aids, which make sounds louder, cochlear implants evade the damaged hair cells of the inner ear (cochlea) to produce sound signals to the brain.

The cochlear implant is considered a safe procedure with a low rate of significant complications. A study on 403 patients who underwent cochlear implantation revealed a complication rate of only 19.9%, with the majority of complications being resolved by clinical management.

You need to follow some instructions before your cochlear implant surgery such as:

•             Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen for 10 days before surgery.

•             Wash your hair the night before surgery. Do not wear any makeup or jewelry the day of surgery.

•             Do not eat or drink anything (including water) after midnight before surgery.

•             You may brush your teeth, but do not swallow any water.

How It Is Performed

A cochlear implant is an electronic hearing device to produce useful hearing sensations to a person with severe to profound nerve deafness by electrically stimulating nerves inside the inner ear.

These implants usually consist of 2 main components:

•             The external microphone, sound processor and transmitter system.

•             The inner receiver and electrode system, which contains the electronic circuits that receive signals from the external system and send electrical currents to the inner ear.

Cochlear implants are highly innovative medical devices and the only technology that is capable of functionally restoring one of the five senses. The two main components of cochlear implants surgical procedure include the implant and the external component.

Recovery process contain some warnings and precautions such as:

•             You may not do any heavy lifting and you may not do any vigorous exercises

•             Do not bend. If you need to bend over to pick up something, bend at your knees.

•             You may shampoo your hair 48 hours after surgery carefully.

•             Do not take any medication containing aspirin or ibuprofen for 10 days after surgery

•             You may attend travel flights usually one week after surgery.

Side Effects

People with a cochlear implant may come across some cochlear implant risks such as:

•             Sound impressions from an implant differ from normal hearing, according to people who could hear before they became deaf. At first, users describe the sound as "mechanical", "technical", or "synthetic". This perception changes over time, and most users do not notice this artificial sound quality after a few weeks of cochlear implant use.

•             The implant may destroy any remaining hearing in the implanted ear.

•             The cochlear implant stimulates the nerves directly with electrical currents. Although this stimulation appears to be safe, the long-term effect of these electrical currents on the nerves is unknown.

•             There is no test a person can take before surgery that will predict how well he or she will understand language after surgery.

Before And After

Cochlear implant should implement as early as possible in a case of sudden single sided deafness, and that it is an excellent therapeutic option for patients with single-sided deafness and tinnitus, especially when the tinnitus appears after the deafness after evaluating its pros and cons.
