Abud exceeded all my expectations

Abud exceeded all my expectations for Flymedi. He was readily available to answer my questions and put my mind at ease. I was never made to feel like I asked too many questions or rushed at all, he spoke to me as if he were a long time friend. He was also very clear about everything I am going to expect on my trip, from accommodations to the procedure, down to the weather and beautiful things to see in Turkey. Abud makes things so simple and takes the stress away from traveling. I could not and most likely would not have done this without Abud and his help!

First time plastic surgery experience with FlyMedi

I contacted Flymedi about getting a breast augmentation done and I was contacted by Abud shortly thereafter who was helped me through the initial planning phase so well. Since I am coming all the way from Africa and have never traveled alone, Abud organized a video call with the surgeon to go over some of the questions I had as well as my expectations of the surgery. I am very pleased with the service so far and already feel safe about traveling to Istanbul for my surgery

Angela went above and beyond my expectations. She is very friendly and you can always feel at ease contacting her. She made sure I was comfortable with our choice of surgeon Dr. Can Karaca and set up a video call for me. Always ready to help and answer any questions (she would always be available despite the 7 hour time difference)! I wasn’t really sure about traveling to Istanbul, Turkey for my procedure until I met Angela and she explained everything from start to finish and stood behind her words to always be of assistance. Mind you I have been researching for months now for a good doctor and went back and forth between waiting 2 years to get my surgery done in Canada or even traveling to Mexico for it! I was thinking Turkey would be a difficult route due to time difference and the distance but I’m very happy I chose to go to Turkey with Flymedi and I’m glad my agent was Angela Sabou! Do not hesitate to work with Flymedi and especially request Angela if you can!!! - a very satisfied client

Overview

Once the patient is diagnosed with cancer, an oncology consultation is the first step for the treatment. Oncology consultation is performed by the doctors who are experts in cancer treatment, including diagnosing, preventing, and the planning process.Oncologists have a different kind of expertise such as pediatric oncology, radiation oncology, and surgical oncology. Depending on the stage and complexity of the disease, the patient will be oriented towards one or more of these options.

Preparation

Before the initial oncology consultation, patients should prepare medical documents regarding their health condition for their medical history, and patients can prepare their questions for the doctor.

How It Is Performed

The oncology consultation lasts for between 30 to 60 minutes. Additional tests and consultations might be asked by the doctor to organize a treatment plan. The treatment plan may involve a different kind of techniques depending on the patient’s condition, treatments of like radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgeries might be included. Most of the time, the doctor asks for different scan procedures to be performed, such as MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography). With the help of MRI and PET, scan doctors can identify the tumor and get a wider point of view regarding the disease and the treatment plan. The doctor will review all the test results and will adapt the treatment plan to meet the patient’s needs. During an oncology consultation, the patient will be informed in detail of the risks and complications of every treatment option.

Recovery

There is no recovery period of oncology consultation. However, there might be a recovery period regarding the chosen cancer treatment, such as surgery or chemotherapy.

Risks

There are no complications or risks related to an oncology consultation. It is a non-intrusive procedure that the doctor and the patient discuss the best treatment for the future. However, afterward, when the patient follows a certain kind of treatment, it may involve some risks related to the procedure. Yet, the patient would be informed about the possible risks and complications.

Side Effects

Oncology consultation has no side effects since it is a process that patients are informed about cancer treatments and possible side effects of different cancer treatments.

Success Rates

An oncology consultation aims to offer the most suitable management for the patient’s illness, depending on the patient’s general wellbeing and financial status. Oncology consultation is very effective in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer.

Before And After

Before the oncology consultation, the patients should prepare any related documents such as copies of scans, biopsies, test results, etc. Also, you should inform your doctor about the medications you have been taking so that the doctor can specify any possible interactions with the treatment. It might be useful to take notes and ask questions during the oncology consultation. Also, bringing a family member to the oncology consultation is recommended since it would cause social support. If you are suffering from a complex kind of disease, it is recommended to get a second opinion from another specialist.

Faq
