1. Firstly, so nice to meet you. Could you please tell us about yourself a little?

İstanbul Dental Center was established by three dentist professors in 1980 at the center of Istanbul City. IDC is located just across from the Osmanbey Metro Station and is in a very popular shopping area of the city filled with many hotels, malls, and shopping centers. Istanbul Dental Center has 7 boxes which are fully equipped with modern technological tools such as laser, panoramic and Cephalometric X-ray and bleaching machines. The Sandalli professors were educated at The İstanbul University, London University, and The New York University. They have 40 years of experience in different branches of dentistry. Our professors analyze each case individually by reviewing the photographs and radiographs of its patients in order to create customized treatment plans.

İstanbul Dental Center is the only Dental Clinic in Turkey with an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance Certification from the United Kingdom and was also accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Health for Health Tourism.

2. Mostly we are having questions about dental crown, mainly what is dentalcrown?

A dental crown, sometimes known as a dental cap, is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or/encircles a tooth or dental implant. Dental crowns are fixed prosthetic restorations made to restore a damaged tooth to its original shape and size. Dental crowns are used to improve the appearance strength or function of the teeth. They are permanently cemented on teeth.

3. How is it performed?

First, your dentist will apply an anesthetic to numb the concerned tooth. Then, with an abrasive bur, the outer surface of the tooth is removed, creating enough room for the crown to be placed. The dentist will then take an impression of the tooth, using dental impression paste or a digital scanner. The impression is then sent to a dental laboratory to create the crown. When the crown arrives back to our dental office, the crown will be adjusted and cemented to the tooth.

4. Mainly what are the crowns made from?

The crowns are made of gold, platinum base metal alloys or plastic materials. But nowadays dental crowns are made of ceramic compounds such as porcelain, zirconium or e-max

5. After the crown treatment, what should the patient carry about her or hisself?

After the cementation of a crown, the patient should not eat for two hours, brush the surrounding tissues of the crown regularly at least twice a day for two minutes, avoid breaking hard objects between the teeth and visit the dentist every six months for a check-up.

6. Lastly, what makes Istanbul Dental Center different from otherclinics?

Family Clinic

All the consultation and treatment planning for each patient is done by three experienced professors who are the pioneers of modern dentistry in Turkey.
