The Benefit of Breast Lift Abroad

Breast lift surgery is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries worldwide. The procedure helps to restore your breasts to their youthful state. Breast lift abroad is the most sought treatment for many women to improve their physical appearance and confidence.

Most patients are drawn to having breast lifts abroad because the cost of the procedure is significantly cheaper in medical tourism countries like Turkey and the Czech. You can have a luxury vacation and the desired treatment at an affordable price.

Low cost isn't the only advantage. There are other appeals to having breast lifts abroad:

Modern facilities with Avant-grade equipment

The facilities house the newest equipment. Popular destinations for medical tourism like Poland, Turkey, and Hungary have some of the most equipped clinics to offer world-class treatment.

Privacy

Some patients want to keep their medical choices private, so seeking treatment abroad provides them with more confidentiality. Medical tourism offers a solution to this problem; you can publicly announce you're going on holiday while seeking the treatment you desire.

The breast lift is cheap abroad

The affordability of breast lift surgery abroad doesn't affect the quality of treatment. The surgeons abroad have a similar experience as your native country's doctors, if not more. Cost is cheaper because the living expense in these countries is lower if you compare it to US or UK.

Highly skilled and experienced surgeons

The surgeons are highly experienced with years of practice. Their clinics are accredited by renowned institutions like Joint Commission International JCI or International Organization for Standardization ISO.

Doctors abroad speak and communicate in English

Because of language or cultural barriers, some patients might hesitate to consider having the treatment abroad. But in medical tourism destinations like Turkey, Hungary, and Poland, they can communicate in good English.

Some doctors had their training abroad, which explains their good English proficiency. Also, their clinics have assistants who communicate in English.

Tips for Choosing the Best Breast Lift Clinic Abroad

  • Verify the surgeon's experience: Ask about the surgeon's education, additional fellowship training, and how many times they performed the treatment.

  • Trust your instincts: This personal element should not be underestimated when undertaken in a foreign country and in unfamiliar surroundings. For this reason, you should trust your instincts as much as the other information. If a clinic feels wrong, then walk away.

  • Schedule an online consultation: Most clinics or hospitals that work with international patients offer this service.

  • Create a shortlist of possible clinics abroad: Research the clinic you plan to visit overseas. Most reputable clinics will have an official website, and you can examine the specialist's expertise, reviews, and credentials.

  • Prepare a list of questions for your doctor: Prepare a list of questions to ensure you receive quality treatment. Common questions to ask - do they provide a translator? Do they have patients' testimonials? Is the clinic registered with the national association?

  • Understand the procedure you need: Understand the procedure plan you need. Visit your local doctor and understand what treatment best suits your case.

  • Research the condition of the clinic before booking: It's recommended to visit the clinic before booking and finalizing the procedure. Talk to the staff and past patients if possible.

Ideal Candidate for Breast Lift Abroad

You're an ideal candidate for a breast lift abroad if you're unhappy with the aesthetic look of your breast and suffer from sagging or asymmetrical breast size.

You're not expecting to breastfeed or get pregnant. And you're not suffering from a severe illness that will impair healing.

Breast Lift Cost Abroad

The factors that affect the breast lift treatment cost abroad are the location of the clinics, the surgeon's experience, the technique used, and the type of treatment.

Who isn't a good candidate for the procedure?

Breast lift procedure or mastopexy surgery is not recommended for patients with underlying health conditions such as heart problems and lung disease. Patients should be physically healthy and maintain a stable weight. Patients suffering from obesity and diabetes are not good candidates for breast lift surgery.

How long should you stay in the hospital after the surgery?

The patient is required to stay 1 night in the hospital.

How long is the procedure?

The surgery will take between 2 to 3 hours if there is no complication.

What you should avoid before the surgery?

Heavy smokers should be aware that smoking can have an ill effect on the body’s capacity to heal and regenerate. If the patient is a smoker, she should quit smoking for at least a month before going in for surgery.

Patients may be advised to stop taking certain medicines such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, and medicines that contain aspirin. Patients may also be asked to stop taking naturopathic substances such as garlic, ginkgo, and ginseng as they may affect clotting and anesthesia during breast lift surgery.

How is the procedure performed?

The breast lift surgery technique depends on a few factors:

  • Breast shape

  • Breast size

  • The position of the areola

  • The grade of breast ptosis

  • The amount of extra skin to be removed

Once the surgeon decides on the technique that will be used and the incision spots, the patient is administered anesthesia or sedation. After the proper incision is created, the doctor can begin the breast lift procedure, which includes the removal of extra skin and lifting the breast tissue into the proper location.

The breast tissue is reshaped with the nipple being repositioned higher on the chest wall. Larger areolas can also be reduced at this point. The area is then wrapped in bandages, and the breast lift recovery period can officially begin.

What's the recovery like after the surgery?

The average breast lift recovery period lasts a few weeks during which the patient needs to take certain precautions in order to ensure the success of the procedure. A special medical bra will be provided to the patient by the clinic. The medical bra will need to be worn during the full breast lift recovery period.

Sleeping on the stomach is not allowed during the recovery period, because it can create a negative effect on the surgery’s outcome.

A small, thin tube may be temporarily placed under the skin to drain excess blood or fluid. Patients usually return to work and normal activities such as sports in 1-2 weeks. Most of the post-operatory side effects occur during the first week after breast lift surgery.

What are the surgery risks?

Breast lift surgery complications can include:

  • Infection

  • Bleeding

  • Swelling, bruising, and pain

  • Asymmetry scarring

  • Decrease in nipple sensitivity

  • Allergic reactions

What are the surgery's side effects?

The patient can feel pain, discomfort, swelling, and a loss of nipple sensitivity after the surgery. Scars will generally be red at first, then purple, and then fade to become paler over 12 to 18 months. Side effects after breast lift surgery are at the strongest level in the first 4 days but will gradually subside.

Nipple sensitivity usually returns to normal in around 6 weeks to 6 months.

What's the breast lift abroad success rate?

The average success rate based on mastopexy surgery patient reviews is 94,2%.

What you can expect before and after the surgery?

The results of mastopexy (breast lift) surgery can be seen immediately but the final results of the breast lift surgery will slowly become apparent during the course of a few months. It can take several months for the swelling to settle.

The results of mastopexy surgery are long-lasting, but the patient's breasts will continue to change over time. The patient should adopt a healthy and active lifestyle in order to maintain a renewed and rejuvenated appearance after surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Does Breast Lift (Mastopexy) Surgery leave scars?

Breast lift surgery usually leaves a circular scar in the areola. Depending on how much lifting is required, the scars may be placed on the border of the areola and breast skin, extended down from the areola to the base of the breast, or hidden in the fold of the chest.

Should I have Breast Lift surgery if I plan on having children?

Mastopexy surgery does not impair breastfeeding. In rare cases, nerves or ducts can get damaged during the surgery and it may lead to reduced milk production. Pregnancy can affect the timing of a breast lift, as the whole pregnancy process has variable effects on the appearance or the function of the breasts.

If you are planning to have a baby, it would be better to delay the breast lift surgery.

Will Breast Lift surgery change my breast size?

A breast lift procedure alone will not significantly change the size of the breasts. However, patients can opt for a breast lift with augmentation or a breast lift with a reduction to achieve the desired result.

How many days should I travel/stay abroad to do the treatment?

You will need a minimum of 1 to 2 weeks off work.

How long does it take before return to sports after the surgery?

Expect your doctor to advise you to wait a one-month period before returning to sports.
