How Does It Work?

The principle of laser-assisted liposuction is based on the bursting of fat cells by a controlled thermal effect. The laser radiation comes directly into contact with the adipocyte, and heats it to burst it, the triglycerides released by the burst must then be metabolized by the body or more surely sucked up to accelerate their elimination.

This technique should be preferred for localized excess fat. In the case of a larger excess, it is better to use liposuction or to combine the two techniques.

It is the ideal treatment for superficial fatty deposits, particularly cellulite. Indeed, the homogeneity of the results obtained by this technique allows for working much more on the surface without creating irregularities, unlike superficial liposuction.

What Does Laser Liposuction Treatment Involve?

1. Consultation for Laser Liposuction

The first step to start your laser lipo process will be the online consultation. At this stage, our specialist will ask you some questions to define your problems and try to learn your complaints. The main target of this stage is to make sure whether you are a suitable candidate for Laser liposuction or if you need to have another treatment.

Your health history, allergies, medications you use, previous surgeries, and your expectations about the process are the most important data to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for you at this online consultation step.

2. Planning Your Trip and Choosing the Clinic

At this stage, we will learn your criteria to make the best treatment plan for you. We will share the best laser liposuction clinics in Turkey; which we filter according to the criteria we receive from you. After you select one of them, we proceed to the stage of date determination and detailed adjustments.

3. Final Consultation With Your Surgeon

When you arrive at the clinic, you will have a face-to-face consultation with your laser liposuction surgeon. He or she will ask you some questions to try to understand your expectations better and also make you understand what you should expect from your treatment.

Your clinic will explain everything you need to know about your treatment process and try to simulate the results as much as possible, in the order for you to feel well-prepared.

4. Medical Examinations

Before the laser liposuction process begins, you will be conducting some necessary medical tests to make sure that you are in acceptable health status and to ensure that nothing can hinder the success of the procedure. If any risk is obtained at this stage, surgeons try to eliminate them first.

5. Surgery

• It is a surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia in a single session, consisting of introducing under the skin a microcannula of 1 mm in diameter connected to a laser source.

• The duration of treatment depends on the amount of fat and the number of localizations to be treated (30 minutes to 2 hours). The melted fat is then aspirated to accelerate its elimination.

• It is an outpatient treatment that must be performed in the clinic and you may return home as soon as the procedure is completed.

• Laser liposuction is a painless procedure; a tingling or tenderness sensation is possible for the next 2 days. There may also be slight swelling (edema) during the following week. 

Things You Should Consider After Laser Liposuction Treatment

• There will be no noticeable change in the first few weeks; the result will start to appear after 1 month. The skin will take approximately 3 to 6 months to fully gain the new curves and readjust to the new silhouette.

• The results will, therefore, be definitively assessed within 6 months after the intervention. They are most often satisfactory, whenever the indication and the technique have been correct: laser lipolysis will have made it possible to remove localized fat overloads while causing appreciable stretching of the skin.

• Laser liposuction does not replace liposuction (the fatty volumes treated must be localized and moderate) but it constitutes an alternative for the treatment of small volumes.
