How Does It Work?

Male breast reduction with liposuction (gynecomastia surgery alternative) is a quick procedure. The duration of the procedure is usually about 1 hour. After administering general anesthesia and sterilizing the area to be treated, the surgeon makes a tiny incision (only three millimeters), generally in the armpit, which allows the penetration of a cannula through which the fat will be aspirated.

Once the suction of the fat is finished, the cannula is removed and the incision is closed with a suture. The resulting scar is almost invisible thanks to the tiny size of the incision.

5.         Surgery

Once the anesthesia is administered, the initial incision for liposuction is a 7mm cut made at the skin-areola junction of the nipple-areola. The pre-tunnel before liposuction is carried out using a liposuction cannula through the incision. At 3 mm in diameter, liposuction is cannulated with the tip of an inserted instrument, and liposuction of the ipsilateral breast is completed.

The same procedure is repeated on the other breast. All liposuctions were carried out using an assisted device.

At the end of this liposuction step, the sub-areolar part of both breasts remains unchanged. A cannula is inserted through the same incisions and liposuction of the sub-areolar regions of the opposite breasts is also carried out after creating a tunnel through the chest.

Liposuction is done in such a way that there is only a 5mm thick layer of fat left under the skin in all regions.

What Should I Expect After Male Breast Reduction with Liposuction?

• The patients were discharged on the same day as the procedure. This was followed by regular clinical follow-up of 3 months, 6 months, 18 months, and 24 months.
• After the procedure, it is necessary to wear compression garments for 3-4 weeks. This prevents the accumulation of fluids under the skin and replaces it in place until it has adapted to the decreased volume of the breast.
• Scars will not be easily visible and fade away in a few months.
•  It is a procedure after which the appearance of swelling and bruising can be expected.
• After about 4 days, you will be able to return to normal social and work life.
