Angela went above and beyond my expectations. She is very friendly and you can always feel at ease contacting her. She made sure I was comfortable with our choice of surgeon Dr. Can Karaca and set up a video call for me. Always ready to help and answer any questions (she would always be available despite the 7 hour time difference)! I wasn’t really sure about traveling to Istanbul, Turkey for my procedure until I met Angela and she explained everything from start to finish and stood behind her words to always be of assistance. Mind you I have been researching for months now for a good doctor and went back and forth between waiting 2 years to get my surgery done in Canada or even traveling to Mexico for it! I was thinking Turkey would be a difficult route due to time difference and the distance but I’m very happy I chose to go to Turkey with Flymedi and I’m glad my agent was Angela Sabou! Do not hesitate to work with Flymedi and especially request Angela if you can!!! - a very satisfied client

Adonis Fertility International Caring Professionals

After trying IVF unsuccessfully in the US for many years Maria from Adonis Fertility International gave me hope. I was very impressed by her work ethic and I trusted she would work hard at helping us become parents. Her communication was top-notch. I choose Adonis because of Maria and then worked with Amy, Nancy, and Ivanna and ALL were Amazing. Everything is broken down for you in steps and very organized. There was always someone there to answer a question you may. Its been a very smooth process, with all the legal documents and made transporting the biomaterial stress-free. We are still in our beginning stages and I will give another review at the end but everything so far has been excellent and I would recommend Adonis to any US couple looking to try IVF and hopefully become parents.

Excellent service

Excellent service. I was really hesitant at first, because I’ve never done anything like this before, but Kirstie did a great job of answering all my questions & concerns, in a timely manner. I would highly recommend using this service.

At the beginning, I was very hesitant about having my surgeries, especially the idea of having them in Turkey, which is a country located across the ocean of where I come from, the United States of America. When I initially started my research, I came across Flymedi, and I strongly believe that connecting with them was the best decision I have made in regards of having my desired surgeries. After entering my contact information, I was contacted from Flymedi by an agent named Abud. On one hand, Abud has been a great assist and support to my journey, as he was involved in every step throughout the process. He was very responsive to all my concerns and inquiries before and after the operations. On the other hand, everyone at the clinic that I was referred to (EstEthica) was very nice and welcoming. The in-person consultant on site (Lamia) was extremely helpful and kind. She, along with the whole clinic staff, made me feel so comfortable and made the whole trip seem as smooth as possible, despite the discomfort after the surgeries. In terms of the results, I can not speak of this just yet as it has only been a week since I have had my operations. However, I will definitely come back within a couple of months to update my review and speak about the results and any other additional notes along the way. In a nutshell, all I can say that I am grateful for everything so far, and I truly appreciate everyone that was involved in this process! P.S. as a word of advice, if you are having a hair transplant operation, I highly recommend having it at least 3 - 4 days before your departure flight back home, as the post operation instructions are a bit intense and not being in a rush would significantly help with the recovery process.

Great experience using Flymedi to find the perfect surgeon and operation for me. Abud answered all my questions and helped so much!

Recommended For Myomectomy

Female patients who are suffering from uterine fibroids (also called myoma or leiomyoma of the uterus) can be the candidates for myomectomy. It does not happen often, but sometimes leiomyoma of the uterus develops cancer, and it may cause bleeding, pain, and infertility.

Not Recommended For Myomectomy

If the patient's leiomyoma did not turn into cancer, which rarely happens, then the patient is suitable for the operation. It is relatively a safer and less complex operation than a hysterectomy.

Overview

Myomectomyis a surgery for the removal of uterine fibroids. Also, this treatment lets patients avoid hysterectomy operation. There are different kinds of myomectomy, which are hysteroscopic myomectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy, an abdominal myomectomy (or laparotomic myomectomy). In contrast to hysterectomy, patients who had myomectomy can get pregnant after the operation.

Types of Myomectomy Surgery

There are three main types of myomectomy procedure:

• Hysteroscopic Myomectomy – hysteroscopic myomectomy is usually used to remove uterine fibroids growing inside the uterus. Hysteroscopy is a medical device inserted through the vagina and allowing for operation without external incisions.

• Laparoscopic Myomectomy – This method is very useful in cases of minor uterine fibroids which are located on the outer wall of the uterus. Laparoscopic myomectomy is performed with a medical tool called laparoscope. It involves a camera and a light. Surgeons make several small incisions instead of a single big one.

• Abdominal Myomectomy (Laparotomic Myomectomy) – In this method, surgeons make a large incision in the abdomen. This method finds its use in complicated cases of leiomyoma of the uterus, with large numbers of uterine fibroids in different locations.

Preparation

Before the surgery, some patients may need hormonal therapy with so-called GnRH-a. It would be effective in reducing the bleeding from the uterus. Also, before the operation, you should always inform your doctors about the medical conditions you have and the medicines you are taking. Therefore, your doctors may want you to stop taking some of the medicines which may affect the process negatively.

How It Is Performed

Even though there are different methods (hysteroscopic myomectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy, and abdominal myomectomy) to perform myomectomy, their purpose is the same, which is to the removal of the uterine fibroids. After the operation, surgeons pay attention to the operated area in case of extreme bleeding to stop it, and they might make stitches. (like in the abdominal myomectomy and, to a smaller extent, in the laparoscopic myomectomy).

Recovery

The myomectomy recovery period varies depending on the type of the myomectomy performed. Hysteroscopic myomectomy has a very short recovery time, which is a couple of days while the recovery period for abdominal myomectomy is around 6 weeks. In general, during the myomectomy recovery period, patients may experience pain, but it would not require any medical intervention.

Risks

Even though the myomectomy surgery is a safe one, still there are some risks and complications. For example, surgeons may cause harm to surround organs during the operation. Also, infection is one of the complications of myomectomy. Rarely, this surgery may cause infertility in some of the patients. Yet the most important complication of myomectomy is extreme bleeding. Surgeons may need to perform a hysterectomy to be able to stop it.

Side Effects

Myomectomy surgery has no known side effects.

Success Rates

There is no clear data about the success rate of myomectomy operation, but it is known that many patients who had myomectomy are pleased.

What Is Myomectomy?

Myomectomy is performed as a treatment for uterine fibroids. Myomectomy can be performed in three different ways. During the hysteroscopic myomectomy, surgeons remove uterine fibroids from the vagina while in laparoscopic myomectomy several small cuts are made and in abdominal myomectomy, there is a big cut made to perform the operation. There are different kinds of methods for the different needs of the patients.

Myomectomy vs. Hysterectomy – Which Is Better?

The answer depends on the patient's expectation. If the patient is willing to get pregnant, then myomectomy is the best choice. However, hysterectomy enjoys higher success rates when it comes to the overall satisfaction of patients.

Is There a Connection between Fibroids and Pregnancy?

Many patients have uterine fibroids without even realizing it. Yet there might be issues caused by leiomyoma of the uterus which can lead to performing of myomectomy surgery.
