Angela went above and beyond my expectations. She is very friendly and you can always feel at ease contacting her. She made sure I was comfortable with our choice of surgeon Dr. Can Karaca and set up a video call for me. Always ready to help and answer any questions (she would always be available despite the 7 hour time difference)! I wasn’t really sure about traveling to Istanbul, Turkey for my procedure until I met Angela and she explained everything from start to finish and stood behind her words to always be of assistance. Mind you I have been researching for months now for a good doctor and went back and forth between waiting 2 years to get my surgery done in Canada or even traveling to Mexico for it! I was thinking Turkey would be a difficult route due to time difference and the distance but I’m very happy I chose to go to Turkey with Flymedi and I’m glad my agent was Angela Sabou! Do not hesitate to work with Flymedi and especially request Angela if you can!!! - a very satisfied client

Adonis Fertility International Caring Professionals

After trying IVF unsuccessfully in the US for many years Maria from Adonis Fertility International gave me hope. I was very impressed by her work ethic and I trusted she would work hard at helping us become parents. Her communication was top-notch. I choose Adonis because of Maria and then worked with Amy, Nancy, and Ivanna and ALL were Amazing. Everything is broken down for you in steps and very organized. There was always someone there to answer a question you may. Its been a very smooth process, with all the legal documents and made transporting the biomaterial stress-free. We are still in our beginning stages and I will give another review at the end but everything so far has been excellent and I would recommend Adonis to any US couple looking to try IVF and hopefully become parents.

Excellent service

Excellent service. I was really hesitant at first, because I’ve never done anything like this before, but Kirstie did a great job of answering all my questions & concerns, in a timely manner. I would highly recommend using this service.

At the beginning, I was very hesitant about having my surgeries, especially the idea of having them in Turkey, which is a country located across the ocean of where I come from, the United States of America. When I initially started my research, I came across Flymedi, and I strongly believe that connecting with them was the best decision I have made in regards of having my desired surgeries. After entering my contact information, I was contacted from Flymedi by an agent named Abud. On one hand, Abud has been a great assist and support to my journey, as he was involved in every step throughout the process. He was very responsive to all my concerns and inquiries before and after the operations. On the other hand, everyone at the clinic that I was referred to (EstEthica) was very nice and welcoming. The in-person consultant on site (Lamia) was extremely helpful and kind. She, along with the whole clinic staff, made me feel so comfortable and made the whole trip seem as smooth as possible, despite the discomfort after the surgeries. In terms of the results, I can not speak of this just yet as it has only been a week since I have had my operations. However, I will definitely come back within a couple of months to update my review and speak about the results and any other additional notes along the way. In a nutshell, all I can say that I am grateful for everything so far, and I truly appreciate everyone that was involved in this process! P.S. as a word of advice, if you are having a hair transplant operation, I highly recommend having it at least 3 - 4 days before your departure flight back home, as the post operation instructions are a bit intense and not being in a rush would significantly help with the recovery process.

Great experience using Flymedi to find the perfect surgeon and operation for me. Abud answered all my questions and helped so much!

Overview

Tumor of the pituitary gland is called a pituitary tumor. The pituitary gland plays a major role in the production of some of the hormones such as adrenocorticotropic and thyroid-stimulating hormone which also is responsible for the simulation of other glands. Most of the time pituitary tumors (pituitary adenomas) are benign tumors. Therefore, these tumors do not spread around and do not get to the point in which they threaten the patient’s life. Therefore, sometimes surgeons decide not to perform the removal since in such cases the Surgery's benefits might be less than its complications.
There are two general categories of pituitary tumors, determined by their size:
• Microadenomas – adenomas of a size smaller than 1 cm.
• Macroadenomas – adenomas bigger than 1 cm.

Also, adenomas can be classified with accordance to their type of pituitary hormones which production is affected by them. Adenomas might influence the level of hormone production; it might decrease or increase production. These changes may cause some medical conditions which are not life-threatening, such as Cushing’s disease and other hormone-related syndromes. In addition, macroadenomas might influence the patient’s sight. If their influence is too great to be limited in non-invasive ways, doctors decide for a pituitary tumor removal.

Preparation

Initially, you should inform your doctors about your medical conditions and the medications you have been using. Additionally, you will be asked to for the day of your pituitary gland tumor removal.

How It Is Performed

Pituitary tumor removal surgery can be performed in two different techniques:

• Transsphenoidal Surgery – transsphenoidal Surgery is a beneficial technique specifically in cases of microadenomas and sometimes macroadenomas. It is relatively a new method, but its popularity is increasing across the world.Transsphenoidal Surgery is performed through one's nose – doctors cut through the nose and sinuses in order to reach pituitary gland. This technique is a less invasive method which causes shorter pituitary tumor removal recovery period and no visible scars.

• Transcranial Surgery – Transcranial Surgery is a classic brain tumor surgery which is performed by surgeons as cutting in the patient’s skull so as to reach the pituitary gland. It is preferred for bigger macroadenomas which may be hard to remove in the transsphenoidal resection.

Recovery

The recovery period from pituitary tumor removal surgery begins at the hospital in 1-2 days stay, after the operation. After one-week monitoring, the patient can leave the hospital. During the recovery period, patients may suffer from some amounts of pain, which can be eased with painkillers. Also, sense of smell might be impaired for a few weeks, which would influence the pleasure of eating. 4 weeks after surgery, most patients can go back to work.

Risks

Both of the surgery methods(transsphenoidal and transcranial) have several risks related to the process. Complications of pituitary tumor removal surgery include damage to vessels, nerves, and brain, bleeding, and infection. Also, if the Surgery was completed with unsuccessful results, there might be a need for another kind of treatment techniques such as radiation or second pituitary tumor surgery. Lastly, the removal of the pituitary tumor may result with the failure of one’s pituitary gland in the long term, and hormonal therapy might be needed.

Side Effects

Common side effects of pituitary tumor removal are temporary loss of smell and mild pain.

Success Rates

Even though pituitary tumor removal surgery may seem like a difficult procedure and might have significant consequences, still it has a high success rate, which is thought to be around 90% or more. However, the success rate is strongly affected by the surgeon’s experience and skills in addition to the location and size of adenomas.
